I would love to have a good L78 car. not necessarily a convert. I did notice several repop parts that for a car with that price I would not have done that to it.  Any opinion on block stamps? I think the pad looks like it has been tampered with to the right of the date code. Also, were big block cars stamped harder in the vin area than small blocks? I have not seen a small block car stamped that deep. Carb doesn't have a date code either.   Pretty car and they did a lot of work with nice pictures

I looked a little closer and the rebuilt one has holes toward the front of the car. My 42080 has holes toward the rear like the original one pictured here with a single indention in 2 places on the front. This rebuilt one doesn't match anything so far

Those appear to be real holes. Mine for being rebuilt appears too nice.... I don't really want to fill pan with gas either

Anyone have a picture of an original z fuel pump? I bought this supposedly rebuilt one and it has 2 holes in each place where my replacement has a single hole. On the rebuilt one , these are more like indentions. The hole doesn't go anywhere. I thought these holes leaked gas if pump went bad

Great story!

Thanks. That's what I was seeing on mine. Wanted to make sure BEFORE I painted it!

Anyone have ideas on finish of clip and piece staples are in? My stapled piece might have been a low gloss black but couldn't tell on clip.

I might too! No idea why I have a 202. My motor had a 68 timing cover too...

It is vertical. O is by the pan. Or what ever it is

I wanted to add to this.
My 69 Z had 4 globs of a black rubber like material holding the glass in and lacquer thinner didn't do much for it.  24 hour soak got me a chipped mirror. Let it set a few days and still was attached but it came out.  Probably something better to use. My car is 03D on tag. No idea when they got rid of tape

Mine looked to be yellow but I do wonder if they were white that aged?
