I like the light reflection over decked. If it was decked, by the way it looks, they would have skipped the whole corner of the block.

I looked at a 70z this past summer and it had what appeared as the invoice number stamped on it in a couple places. I took a picture of the vin by the filter and it was pretty legible. I thought it was odd and the car had the wrong tach. I got home and blew the vin picture up and right beside the fresh one was the original so faint the owner had never seen it.  The real deal killer was it was supposed to be citrus green (ugh) and the car had not been in California near as long as the guy led us to believe..
157  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Anybody ever follow up a listing like this to see whether it is legit or not? on: April 16, 2014, 07:57:30 PM
It's a scam. You pay to sign up and get nothing. No personal experience just read about it

I would love to have a good L78 car. not necessarily a convert. I did notice several repop parts that for a car with that price I would not have done that to it.  Any opinion on block stamps? I think the pad looks like it has been tampered with to the right of the date code. Also, were big block cars stamped harder in the vin area than small blocks? I have not seen a small block car stamped that deep. Carb doesn't have a date code either.   Pretty car and they did a lot of work with nice pictures

163  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 40669 fuel pump on: April 08, 2014, 12:32:09 PM
I looked a little closer and the rebuilt one has holes toward the front of the car. My 42080 has holes toward the rear like the original one pictured here with a single indention in 2 places on the front. This rebuilt one doesn't match anything so far
164  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 40669 fuel pump on: April 08, 2014, 10:37:30 AM
Those appear to be real holes. Mine for being rebuilt appears too nice.... I don't really want to fill pan with gas either
165  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 40669 fuel pump on: April 07, 2014, 04:50:53 PM
Anyone have a picture of an original z fuel pump? I bought this supposedly rebuilt one and it has 2 holes in each place where my replacement has a single hole. On the rebuilt one , these are more like indentions. The hole doesn't go anywhere. I thought these holes leaked gas if pump went bad
