Jano and I should meet up sometime. My car was new in Hubbard area and not far from you.
I hated to paint my car but ever panel had some issue. Dinged passenger door, burnt spot in hood from carb fire and other problems. It looked like it had tree sap damage on the roof. I saw it a month ago and when it warms up,I think it's ready to paint. The guy does a super job in prep and should look a lot better. It was a great car to do having everything there.

There's a story a body guy told me of a barn on a back road here with gm muscle cars in it. He has looked but never found them. May just be a story.  I do know, on the road my 300 G was on, a neighbor said there were 3 or 4 hemi cars in a building. He was a car guy and went by one day and they had a sale and sold them. He had no idea they were doing that.

I did get new inserts for mine and slid right in

Here's mine. My car shows 12000 on odometer and when the 4.88 gears were installed, they changed the speedometer to compensate.  They changed it the wrong way in teeth numbers and it was adding miles Alot faster than it should.  I estimate from what I know of the history, it could be under 10,000 miles actual. The inserts in my wiper were bad and guessed they could be original to the car.

If I am understanding this, there shouldn't be primer over the paint. So this over spray shouldn't be primer. Eddie believes this is stripe over spray.

I believe my wipers are factory and they are the peaked design.  03D

I would not have noticed the reflection myself. Good looking car

I found the picture I was looking for. Looks like the blackout has a lot of white over spray on this car.

It is nice to see. We are getting a little today. What's became a problem here, it's been under freezing long enough, we have an underground waterline frozen. It did it last year but it was colder. This year seems like 3 weeks under freezing. Looks like next week it might get into the 30s!!

I read the yellow car but I don't think it would be the same as a white striped car. I assume what looks white is primer on it? Why would a black striped car have white under the cowl? That would look terrible
14  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Which was done last, Cowl white or firewall blackout on Z on: February 24, 2015, 10:27:21 AM
I am rounding up some info to get my car painted and found some confusing details. I searched and didn't find exactly an answer here or in assembly process.
I read the blacked out firewall was done last on a regular car. I thought a shield was eventually used to keep white cowl paint from going too far down the firewall. I believe I have seen pictures of firewalls with a lot of sloppy white on them. This makes me think the white was done after blackout.
When I was searching today, I read where the cowl was painted then the blackout. I am wondering does the white go down and overlap the black or does the black overlap the white?
Thanks guys. Maybe this will make it easier to find

Jano that's a good one. Biggest thing on rpm might be what cams in it?
Transmission stamp might be interesting to see what it looks like
