Soda won't do much on rust either. N10

If you use soda, it leaves a residue that inhibits rust but paint doesn't like it. I soaked mine with acetone and had no adhesion problems

I used soda and found a lot of writing. Had mar for maroon, n10, ok. It looks like the pencil stains the bare metal. I don't know how anything would take off paint and leave pencil material. Paint should be tougher. I will try and post a couple

Decoding/Numbers / rear sway bar?
« on: September 08, 2013, 01:57:15 AM »
Just watched the JL8 car sell at mecum. Mentioned the rear sway bar. Was this an over the counter part for racing? I have never heard of it. Announcers said it was a jl8 car. But looked like added on stuff.

Ouch on the jl-8!
Just last night a Buddy and i were talking about the mid 90 Hondas he has dealt in. I said the ford Taurus was the biggest seller where are they? Hondas are everywhere but you don't see any Taurus. They must have not lasted. More 69 z's around!

I think it looks like it has been restamped when you look close. One picture appears like new numbers are right beside originals. Might be same numbers. Kinda odd

I met Wayne at mecum. Nice friendly guy and took time for pictures. Really enjoy Roger his mechanic. Some of the stuff he says! He said something last week and camera caught Wayne turning and shaking his head.

« on: August 26, 2013, 06:09:11 PM »
Very interesting. I looked at a 70 z that had holes but farther apart. Guy was 3rd owner and someone told him it was a california car and it had water injection at one time to pass smog test.  Thought it was odd

small world, same car. Mershons isn't far from me and the owner is in my town. used to live on my road!
several things not correct but colors appear to be. Brake booster sticks out like sore thumb.  my dad saw it last month and owner told him it was an Arizona car. I thought quarters looked like they may have been changed tho.
