General Discussion / Re: Chrome Plating

I called custom chrome and sent pictures of my bumpers. My bumpers are straight with slight surface rust appearing on the lower corners of one, the other has no rust. I would think it would be hard to find much better ones to do. They quoted me roughly 8-900. Then sent a second email saying each!  Heartbeat city is selling rechromed show chrome gm bumpers for 595 I believe.  This seems high to me

Originality / Re: shock mount bolt

I am looking in Jerry's book on page 69, the two rear shocks don't have the same bolt. One on left is like the 2 I have. The one one right doesn't show the washer piece covering up the bushing

The end of the shock bolt at the top is flat and welded. Like a washer welded on.  Hard to see in the picture. I have a feeling to use the other two studs they are upside down.

Originality / shock mount bolt
« on: February 26, 2014, 03:27:03 PM »
When traction bars were put on my car, original bolts were removed. I have a set of z shocks, part number 3192851. In the picture the bolt is not the same as what is sold as the rear shock mount bolt. Bolt on left is a repop, middle is original. Shock shows welded in stud and it does not have the solid metal collar like the bolts. Jerry's book picture matches my shock.  What is the deal with these bolts. Were they used on replacement shocks?

Restoration / Polishing glass
« on: February 24, 2014, 11:34:56 PM »
I have my windshield out and you can see where the wipers ran in the right light.
Anyone have experience cleaning this up or should I be looking at one of the new date coded glass.  Can you tell the new glass isn't correct and how bad does this hurt the car?
Thanks guys

I actually saw it today! It has no paint but it is moving along. There is a car there he's finishing up then mine will be ready for paint. He has the doors adjusted and it has been blocked once. My passengers doors was out at the rear bottom far enough you could put your fingers under the edge
