General Discussion / Re: building a garage
« on: December 20, 2012, 01:29:13 PM »
We have a farm and when we built our shop we installed the heat in the floor. It uses a gas instant hot water heater like you use for hot water in the house. When you open the doors your heat doesn't leave, floor doesn't sweat, nice to lay on and work, seems to be efficient. We love it

I think since he starts off by calling it a Z , is the first mistake. With the fake tag, it probably wasn't. Call it what it is. I would sell my numbers matching real z for what he wants for that!

I would like to have an l78. I called about a black rs/ss a year ago and it was sold. If you have seen the win the camaros dream give away, the 69 i think is the car i called on. It was near Cincinnati and had like 17 options. Sold by the time i called!

Thanks. I saw those 2 cars and a copo clone (I think) and they all look different. The two suggested, one is alot creamier than the other. Not sure to think its gold with a hint of charcoal or what! Not sire its my favorite but it seems to be unusual

I don't think i have seen this in person. Is it a cross between tan and gold? Metallic? Found a base car that was champagne and now another color.  I like to see the original color on a car just not sure about thus one

Restoration / Re: 69 Z booster hose bracket
« on: December 12, 2012, 04:34:58 AM »
I thought JM  mentioned a tumbler for my valve covers.
I got it at summit. You can put alot of bolts in it and i let it run3 hours our so. Stuff comes out with only the rust knocked off. Similar to your evaporust pictures.  Does a nice job. I use the green plastic triangles that came with it

Chick,
all that work made me tired and not looking forward to it!!
I put some of my small pieces in a tumbler and they come out with just the rust knocked off like bolts. I had the hose holder in there and need to see if there is any sign of a coating or what I guess. some of my bolts look like new and still have the factory coating after you take the gunk off
Thanks

Didn't have any luck searching for this. What color should this bracket that holds the booster hose on the intake be? Mine is bare, Jerrys book says natural or silver cadium dichromate. If mine was plated its gone

Hey Danny
I didn't know restoring meant stamping numbers? Did they get it from the person you sold it to or you have any ideas?
