That's interesting how different Gary's NOS gauges are from the originals. Just a quick look and I see originals weren't as crisp and the needles on the OE gauges are pretty different also. Mine are originals as well. I wish they weren't packed away for the move or I'd snap a pic for you also Darrell. I'll take a look on my computer when I get home. I think I have some pics of the console and gauges before I removed it saved.

I'm with you on keeping it a survivor. It looks like it was pretty clean in the later pictures. It can only be a survivor once, but either way, it's going to be beautiful when it's finished.

So where are you with your resto now? I think I saw a pic of it stripped down like mine. Are you going back to original?

Nope..   Gary's IS a C rear end..  although the C is partially obscured by an 'impact' wtih a rock or something in the past..?
(Bryan and Kurt finally convinced me there was a 'C' out there in front of the BU..)

Gotcha. I think I can barely see it now. That makes sense.

That's
Another one to add to the mix for you... Jan 69. Not original to my car though. Recognize it Gary? lol

:)  Is that the one I traded you a year or so ago?   I bought that unit in Atlanta at a Classic Chevy Meet in the late '70's or early '80's.. and I didn't know the code to determine date at the time I traded it to you..   that's been a later point of knowledge for me (learned here on CRG a few months ago.. :)

Did you ever find someone to trade you the BB rods for the SB rods that were with it?
That's the one Gary. I haven't tried trading or selling the rods yet. I just put them away for a later date when I come across someone that might be interested in them.

Welcome! Hugger O. rules especially in Big Block form! Nice car! drooling!
Nothing for you to drool over. Other than yours being an SS/RS, I think ours are twins right down to the M/T valve covers!

If he's interested, I'd be very interested in some kind of a trade. They haven't changed since you took those pictures.

Thanks gents! More than likely it'll be a day 2 car. I was going to go with my original wheels, but I think I'd miss my slotted mags. The M/T valve covers are going to stay.
Gary, I saw your "ultimate expression post." I was cracking up. I love it. I'd already be moved, but I'm a slave to the job... They think I like paying for two houses I guess lol. I figure I'll be in Mich within a couple of months hopefully. Thanks for lighting a fire under my backside to start posting on CRG instead of just reading.

I've been pretty active on Team Camaro, but now that I'm posting on CRG as well I guess I better introduce myself/ my Camaro.
I'm in the middle of a long rotisserie resto.... I've had it since '82, but it was around '08 that I pulled it in the garage and started to really tear it down to correct a multitude of '80s body work sins... Here are some specs and a couple pics. Feel free to ask questions.

sorry just noticed this thread
Here is a pic of mine from a 08C ( August of 69) car.
That's interesting. Five days between your rear end and mine and yours isn't a "C" rear end. Gary's is 9 days after mine and it isn't a "C" rear end either.

I know you're looking for "post August", but my 08D 69 has both a "C JF" coded block and the "C BS" rear end so this might help you.... Here is a pic of my born with motor built 0728. I don't have a close up of the PS pump handy. Let me know if you need one and I can snap a pic when I get home for you.

I'm surprised the a/m vendors haven't caught on and started selling the pot metal non-metalic repops yet. Seems like it would be cheaper to make and they could sell them for a premium.

I wish I had my originals to help you out with. What a great find. I have an original shifter I got from Gary (69Z28-RS) to replace my missing one, but the rods I got with it were for a small block. I still need to source some big block rods....
