 Until the unions stop giving money to the left, they are going to continue to sink. If you give your money to a union, you are supporting the left completely right now. I see guys getting out of the union constantly because of that. Think about it if you are a union steward, president etc. Time for some union policy changes if you want to survive.
 I can't believe you guys allowed me to get into this on the internet lol. Over drinks next time ok?

Not going to quit? Sometimes it is easier to attack someones character then to debate the issue. FACTS are FACTS and OPINIONS are OPINIONS (sometimes based on facts) If someone is getting their information from CSNBC they might tend to disagree w/ the "facts" reported on FOX. If someone is getting their information from FOX they might tend to disagree w/ the "facts" reported on CSNBC. However belittling and ridiculing a person based on their assumed political affiliation aq determined by their OPINION does not make for a healthy debate of the FACTS.


Back to the Pretty Cool Ole Car... and examples of FACTS vs OPINIONS

FACT: The car came from the factory painted Olympic Gold

OPINION 1: Olympic Gold is the best color ever
OPINION 2: Olympic Gold sucks out loud

FACT: The car is not a Z/28

OPINION 1: Too bad it would be really cool of it were a Z/28
OPINION 2: Who cares? I'm not a Z lover

FACT: The paint is in poor condition

OPINION 1: Looks fine. Clean it up, drive it and call it a survivor
OPINION 2: Restore it and paint it Hugger Orange. All '69 Camaros should be either Hugger Orange or Azure Turquoise, except the one (also not a fact) that came painted Champagne.

FACT: The CRAIGSLIST listing has expired

Are you sure that is a weld, and not just a painted bushing?

I agree. Looks like the rubber bushing painted over. Did you try pushing your fingernail or screw driver etc into it?

That doesn't look like overspray to me. Hard to tell in the pic, but it looks like it goes right under the hinges and the rust seems to be feathered over that paint. Hood insulation might have stopped somone from cleaning the rusty areas and the orange you see could have just been maintained better. Just a theroy...

From "Jim" on the Yenko site: "The 69 Pace Car camaro that was pictured here in the Turkey Rod run friday picts met an untimely end on its way home last week. A very good friend of mine bought it and was tranporting it back home to Pa. I left Daytona Sunday at noon headed back to Pa only to encounter 3 accidents slowing 95 just north of Daytona, cruised thru Georgia to wind up stopped just south of the South Carolina border, i had exited to get food when my phone rang . My paniced neihbor told me he had been in an accident at mile marker 5 in S.C. and he needed my help. It took me an hour to get 5 miles. What I saw was not easy on the stomach but he was unheart. His Duramax dually, 35 foot 2 car trailer and 69 Pace car got tangled up and slid jacknknifed backwards down a 65 foot ravine rolling everything over and over. You wont beleive someone walked away from this. I need help to post the rest of the pictures on here ."
The trailer ball snapped off. Supposedly the car went to Cali to get repaired after the insurance company sold it to a new owner with a salvage title.

Government doesn't care, and there is not enough of the public that is actually engaged in politics to stand up and make a difference. IMO the general public, pays very little attention to politics until a presidential race, and even then they are only listening to a 30 second commercial and who looks likable to make their decision.

Sorry, this always strikes a nerve with me. In my short life span I have seen people get dumbed down by TV, and told what to think by its news anchors and talk show hosts.The media is a huge blob of influence now. John Q public just wants his sports, or tv show, un-interrupted. If they can get paid (unemployment, food stamps) to stay at home they will continue to vote for the party that helps them do this.
The honest days work, the pride of making it on your own has turned into "you didn't build that". I guess thats why the vehicle hobby is so great, it is a instant source of pride, each vehicle represents an effort by the owner, a extension of them and a source of pride. There is a sense of pride and freedom in turning wrenches for me.
I wish the rest of the country would find themselves, and get back to being the best workers in the world. Tune out the media and get involved with turning this country around politically.

Very well put.     OP: Lots of potential. Seems like a solid project. Hard to tell from pictures, but worth a look. I'd probably leave as is/preserve and maybe put the vinyl top back on.

It can only be original once and I've finally admitted that to myself... mine is getting a new floor pan and full quarters will replace the 80% quarters put on back in the 80s. It will never be a surivivor again because nature wasn't stopped a long time ago. The only things now that I don't want touched are the X66 crayon mark and the trim tag. Everything else I want blasted, prepped, primed and painted as correctly as I can afford. I only want to do this once and I don't want to fool myself into thinking that original is better than protected from future rust/rot.

A lot of scammers are now trying to come off as being military to add credibility to their scam. I was playing with a scumbag selling a John Deere farm tractor who claimed to be a LtCol in the Corps. I could tell right off they were full of it. Man I wish I could have met them in person... Couldn't have afforded the trip to Nigeria though lol

1. In your case, having a NOM, I would mix the NOS and repro. The motor probably affects the value more than not going after all the missing NOS parts you don't have. If the parts you don't have are crazy expensive or hard to find, I'd go repro for what you don't have probably and seeing how you already have some of the NOS parts you've completed the hard part for them. Acquiring them. The more NOS or original the better. It depends on how far you're going with the resto and what the end purpose is. NOM isn't the end to a car or it's value. Does it hurt the value? Of course to most. For you, if you're keeping it, it just means if someone looks at the stamp pad, they'll see a different number there. Does it really change the value to you? Are you really worried about someone moving your alternator to see the stamp pad?

2. Used parts. 50% of new for me as a general guide. $34 or $90 part and can't be proven beyond a doubt? It's the $34 part.

3. Tough one. I think to some it will really matter if the 1/4s are NOS or not. Prove they are w/o a receipt after they're installed and painted properly?!? Unless you have a chinese fender that's obvious or 1/4 that was installed poorly, I don't see it affecting the value unless you have a $100k+ car. I agree with your opinion on not putting chinese parts on our cars. Like you, there will be very few things that crossed the ocean going on my car. I think the value is more dependant on how the parts were installed and the quality of work.

I know it's an old debate, but at what point is it not the same car and can you still call it the 1 millionth for instance? Where is the "heart" of the car. The drive train? Maybe. A completely rebodied car to me can be a nice car, but it isn't the same car as before. It's a new one.

Are we sure this is legit? It really looks like one of my sons threw a couple Matchboxes in a sandbox hole... The more I see the pics, the more sick I get. I saw a story where a museum rep said they might add the cars to a survivor exhibit that shows cars that survived tragic events like this. Consipiriacy theories anyone? Big marketing gimmick to get people to the museum?

No, it's REAL..   TOO real...  still an on-going situation being reported on all over the country..  CNN  ..  USA Today...  etc..

Looks like SgtHawks and Gary may have different faces, possibly changed vendors, since they are late production vs my early car.

My guess is just different lighting, cameras and maybe how many UV rays they've been subjected to over the years. I think mine look a lot more like yours in person, but I'd have to check. I can't remember for sure.
