Wow. Sad story. I think I'm going to go call my Dad...

You better take advantage of that as much as possible.  Before you know it they will be gone.  I lost my father in Oct of 2006.  There isnt a day goes by that I wish I could talk to him one more time.

Wow. Sad story. I think I'm going to go call my Dad... Amazing collection of parts and projects. I'm sure there are going to be some very happy bidders. Are you going for another Nomad Gary?

Good idea Dave, re calling your dad...  Letting your parents know that you love them and appreciate them for all that they've done for you is important  (while one still has them), I think it adds some comfort to the parents and the children as we and our parents age...

*another Nomad*?   nope.. :)..  I've got too many now... at 3.   But always have interests in Nomads... they have been 'instant classics' since their introduction, based on the Waldorf 'Nomad' show car previously.  I also love 30's-40 Fords, although I've never owned one.   I've got too many cars, I can hardly work in my shop as it is.. but I'd love to go to the auction.. :)

Gary, Ill tell you what I am going to do for you.  I will help you out and take one of the Nomads off your hands and allow you to go get something at the auction.  Deal?  Sounds good to me.   ;D
I'm with Darrell Gary. I'd be happy to take any 55-57 Chevy, Nomad or otherwise, off your hands ;-) I love Nomads.
I'm lucky to be able to talk to my folks 3-4 times a week at least. I call as much as possible even if it's only for 2 minutes. I hate not living near them anymore... I'm not looking forward to that day when I can't call them anymore Darrell. Unfortunately I know all too well that it's "the debt that all men must pay" eventually.

Originality / Re: Master cylinder cover

My original is pretty rough, but here it is if it helps. Gary's Z and my SS are only a few days apart. Our caps are the same.
You think this scratches will buff out with some time and patience Darrell? Nah, didn't think so lol. Hopefully I can clean it up some though.

here is the old thread.  Gardner has not fixed his issues.
D&R makes a wonderful system at 1/2 the price..

the fun starts on page 3.....

Wow Jeff. I don't remember reading that one. After some of the responses you received I can't say that I'd ever consider doing business with them. Premium prices should command premium satisfaction and I didn't see it there. You should never have had to suck up the freight costs after all that. I hope things worked out better for you in the end. I can't believe they were/are serious with those wrinkles...

Congrats Darrell! Sounds great! Love that stand. Did you build it from scratch or was it a kit? What kind of advantages do get from the coated pistons? I love Cerakote from my firearms, but I never thought to do any engine coatings with it.

Here are a couple of closer pics. Everything I see points to it being legit, but some confirmation would be appreciated! Comments too... Thanks.

Thanks.

Amazing that a 1 of 400-500 built car could end up like that. Glad to see you taking the challenge! I might have missed it, but do you know if it's an RS/SS 350 or 396?
I was hoping the vin could divulge the engine can you tell on the motor mounts? they look different as the driver side seems taller
Unless you can find some paperwork somewhere, the VIN isn't going to tell you much. The taller motor mount is definitely a good sign that it's a big block. You'll have to dig deeper though because that's a part that can easily have been unbolted and replaced. There are a lot of excellent resources out there that are going to be more than happy to help you research what might have come in it. Check out the orphan section to see if by chance the motor and tranny are out there. It's a start anyhow.
Also going to try to find last owner on title, he is the one that stripped it, even plan on going to last address out in rural area may still be pile of parts... BTW read another post that you did a solid favor for another Camaro guy      salute
Thanks and here's to hoping you find that pile of parts and then some! I'm looking forward to seeing you restore this one. Please keep us updated.

Hawk is a good friend, I know it helped out bentley big time. CRG pulls together when it counts
He's a heck of a good guy and deserved the help. Glad I could be there for him.

Going to be a trailer queen, no fun in that. I'd rather be driving it and enjoy using it.
Then do it. There are no rules other than the ones you put on yourself. I don't care how much time and money I've put into mine when I'm done with it, I'll be driving it.

and I did it too, Sarge..  for over 40 years as an engineer ..  but it's not the best means to advance in today's sucking up corporate culture..   :)

That's why I'll never be rich I suppose lol. Oh well... ;-)

Hate to say it, but from my experience solving the problem didn't matter much then and doesn't today either.  It's all about PROCESS and PROTOCOL at the General in many areas....
Try working for the Federal govt.... That's where the saying "Don't make it a federal process" comes from lol. Plenty of the "big fish in little pond syndrome." I can't tell you how many times I've gotten lit up for doing what John did. I still do it though... ;-)

Glad I could/can help! Like I said though, you're going to have to fight my sons to get it out of my garage lol. My 3 yo is geeked that we have two orange 69s. "Daddy, now we have two Camaros, but that ones whole." Thanks for the reminder bud! At least he knows they're Camaros.
It's safe and secure, so sleep easy Bentley.
