241  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Help and advice prior to purchase? on: December 22, 2011, 07:06:19 PM
I am seriously considering the purchase of a 69 RS/SS. The car is in FL and the seller claims that it is an all numbers matching car and complete Restoration was recently done. Is there any assistance available from the experts here to help inspect the car and verify the authenticity, correctness and possibly an appraisal? I have not been able find where I can contact some of the CRG members to at least ask if they would be willing to help.

I know there are inspection and appraisal companies out there, but I do not know how well they know these cars specifically.

242  Orphans - documentation or VIN-stamped drivetrains - in search of the original cars / 1969 - Orphans / Re: 1969 documentation list - updated 1/19/2011 on: December 22, 2011, 05:30:42 PM
I have a lead on 9N547348. I see that it is not on the list. If I end up purchasing it. I will try to document as much as possible.
243  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 BLACK 396 cars got a different black tail panel paint than the body on: December 21, 2011, 01:51:02 PM
"Other stuff on gloss:  there was a 69 L89 camaro there being judged as a survivor (dark green, paint was really rough on the body).  The tail panel had the same gloss as mine (80-85 %).  Super shiney.  Same orange peel."

As mentioned above. I think I have come across a dark green Fathom Green 57 code to be exact car where the black out tail pan has a gloss to it.

Thanks. I have been told this car is orginal except for a body on repaint and added Vintage air. I guess I also need to invest in some manuals.
245  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / fuel filter location on: December 18, 2011, 10:07:15 PM
Anyone have some photos of the correct location of an inline fuel filter with return line of a 396/350hp engine and Qjet carb. I have one that is located above the water pump right in front of the fan. I have never seen it in this location before, and am not sure if this was added or is correct?

Awesome photos thanks for sharing for those of us who did not get to experience racing back in the day.
