Back story on the dealership.

About 1951, the dealership moved to the western edge of downtown. Charles Nash (previous owner - passed away in 2011 at age 87) once owned land at all four corners of Fifth Street and Lamar Boulevard that included the dealership, a used car lot and a body shop.
The dealership moved to South Austin in 1998, to make way for Whole Foods Market's new headquarters and flagship store.

I am guessing that unless they moved their paperwork that they tossed it away but I have still hoping.  Also there are several photos of the dealership in the early years including a video in the early 60's.

Trust me Ive done my homework.  Just looking for someone local that may know or want to help a brotha out.  Grin

Already called them.  Waiting to hear back.  Was on the phone with 5 or 6 different people yesterday leaving voice messages and talking to clueless receptionists.

That is what I want for a daily driver!!!  Perfect.  Unless it has rot in the quarters or floors; I would leave it alone.  I wish I could find a decent 68 6 cylinder car for a dd..

Or right click and copy image url and then click the little insert image tab just above the reply box options (will have to go to preview to see the options) and right click and paste the image url

Add the "img" to the front of the url between the 2 brackets.

Hopefully that makes sense and helps. Smiley

Not bashing you Gary just giving you a hard time.  If you get time look through his build thread.  It is about as nice a restoration as you can get with the majority of the parts being original or NOS.

Get a cup of coffee and be prepared to look for a couple hours.   Grin

Are you aware of a 'restored' '68 Z28 that you would choose over that unrestored car??
That's a trick question, right?

I was thinking the same thing.  Gary must not have seen Chicks build thread over on Team Camaro.  Hands down the nicest 68 Z restoration I have seen to date.

If it was before Jan of 68 it would have had "Z-Z" or in this case "Z-2".  But its a June built car.

I feel that Kurt is correct in his logic but without the buildsheet you will never be 100% sure.
268  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Stripe delete on: May 07, 2014, 11:36:32 AM
The code didn't tell the assemblers anything about what color, or if it was a stripe deletion, or if it was going to receive a show finsh, it was just a code to clue the FISHER paint line that there were special paint requirments for this car.  The actual requirements were on a peice of paper that accompanied the car, or were on hand at the paint booth.  The - or - and a number at the bottom of the tag were indicative of an FSO (fleet or Special Order) number.

I believe that is what I said or at least was trying to say but just in a much more condensed version.   Grin

I will have to respectfully disagree with you Mark.

I fully believe that the " - - " was used for stripe changes and/or deletion as well as special colors.  This would give everyone (Fisher or GM) a heads up to look at the buildsheet to verify color/stripe/whatever change.

kolektor,
I have never seen a La mans blue car with black stripes from the factory, V.T. or not. Marina blue? yes. where did you see that La mans default stripe color information?
