Not to mention that June 2 1968 was a Sunday.

Never even thought to look at the 68 calendar..  Good eye!

Welcome Brad.  Do you care to post up some pics?  Love seeing old racing iron.  I assume you used the NCRS to find out about the Glockner Chevrolet?  Whats the build date on the car?

You also might want to post up in the L78 specific forum over on SYC.

My car was sold originally by Capitol Chevrolet in Nashville, so now I know what to look for.
There was an emblem from a dealer by that name for sale over at sYc earlier this year. See the 5th picture on page 1 of this thread http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/610764/1
No doubt there were many dealers with that name across the country, and this one doesn't have a town/city on it...... but do the mounting hole positions look to match the holes in your car? If so, the seller of those emblems may still have that one and could check the distance between holes.

Yep mine came from Capitol Chevrolet..  In Austin Texas..

Speaking of areas prettier than around here. And speaking of Tennessee, how close are you to this place Darrell ?

My wife and I, and most likely another couple, are talking about taking a spring trip. Like to go this fall but too many time constraints. Would be pretty cool to look you up and check out your Camaros in person.

No wonder my Z's never getting done, lol. Gotta go now. Time to start replacing my porch columns with composites.

When you go, run down the road to Sevierville and check out this one - helps round out the trip. The mountains are pretty enough, but a good dose of muscle helps pass the time -

Been a Floyd Garrett follower since I saw his '61 Impala SS in Super Chevy in the '80's, plus I got to see his '9 ZL1 at Super Chevy Bristol in person and discuss the car. He's a great guy and a great Chevy man to boot -

Regards,
Steve

Ditto that.  Floyd is a super nice guy.  I remember when we went up there and didn't see Mr. Garrett the whole time we were inside until we get back outside and he's outside looking over dad's 1st pacer..   ;D   Cant remember if it was the Rod Run, Grand Run or the Camaro Nationals at the Grand Hotel back in '96-'97...

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are roughly 3 hours away from me..  That is east Tennessee and I am near Nashville (middle)...

Restoration / Re: Grille Replacement
« on: September 05, 2015, 01:28:43 PM »
Just from looking at the L78; I dont see that it needs to come out but I havent had to remove the grille from a 68 before.  I know on my 67 I didnt have to remove it.  Although it would make it easier to access everything.  I would probably remove it simply due to it not being that big of a deal to remove and install.
