The rods snap into a plastic clips in the center of the roof (there is one very small rod that slides into metal fingers IIRC and it doesnt have a clip as it doesnt hook into the sides like the others.  Its the one you start with first when installing the headliner).  Sounds like one has popped out or wasnt in all the way and has rotated making it have the appearance of not having the arch.  I would feel around the headliner until you can feel the rod and see if it moves..  If it does then try to work it around to get it snapped back into the clip.

If Chevy is going to 'outdo' that GT350R, they need a different body than the *over fat* Camaro body they currently have.   hopefully any replacement will be a bit smaller (eliminating the useless back seat would not be a bad thing), and HOPEFULLY provide some driver visibility as to his surroundings.

Ford has answered the old question: 'What beats displacement??"       REVS!!   :)

PS.  Chevy needs to find the engineer who defines the Mustang exhaust systems, and hire him (or her) to be PC.. :)    Mustangs always sound great, regardless of the engine they install...

Have you seen the 2016 Camaro architecture?  And it sounds like you are a closet Ford lover..  Dont forget your roots..

The rod is rusted so I do not know what it is at this point..  Its hard say and its hard to get a pic of them since they are installed..  My gut says phosphate if anything at this point..  Ill slide under there again tonight or tomorrow and see if I can make anything out.

Edit:
I guess I was looking at the shifter rods when I said it was rusted..  I would say phosphate would be the correct finish..

Bracket

Rod

Yep..  I would guess after trying to speedshift at 65-7K the spring and hat was probably left on the road somewhere in northern Ohio back in '68-69..
