This was from a small cruise-in at our local sand blasting place here in Lebanon, TN. They have been featured on Horsepower TV and Musclecar a few times in the past.
Since we dont have a drag racing section.. And since I was going through old magazines over the weekend I thought I would start a thread with ads and other stuff from BITD about Camaro and drag racing..
EDIT:
Ill go back at some point and scan in the photos to make them more view-able and readable.
I have read the CRG page on the batteries and I am wanting to make 100% certain that in 68 say a L30 4 speed car (or any other engine option aside from the 302 & 6cyl) could not have gotten the Y55 battery..
Anyone from here going to watch some drag racing or check out some rides at the Corvette Museum? There is also a banquet with a guest speaker. Ill see if I can get a pic of the event schedule. Post up if you are going..!!..
I ordered one of the battery toppers a week or so ago and it came in last week so I went out today and got a new battery. I cant take credit for this as I have read in other threads and posts of the toppers not fitting all the way down and having to open the holes up. So I took to the dremel to get it close then used a socket wrapped with 320 sandpaper in a drill to even everything out.. I still have to modify the Delco Eye to make it look correct.. Hope to get to that sometime this week.. I failed to get a pic of the posts in relation to the openings before hand but you will get the idea.. Just thought I would pass this along to anyone else that maybe thinking of going the topper route.
If you have scratches in your cluster lens or gauge lens dont waste money on new ones. If you have a DA polisher use it along with #105, 205 & 7 to polish the plastic. I even did a cluster housing but you have to be careful not to discolor..
I put this in the Originality section due to this piece being preserved. Purpose was to remove all rust and inspect and reassemble. I found a new product on eBay called RUSTAWAY which is considerably cheaper than Evaporust and seems to work just as good. Also using Cosmoline Rust Veto for the protection of bare metal parts.
Hope everyone stays safe in the TN, NC, VA & KY areas.. looking at 4-6 inches here in the Nashville area.. We southern folk dont know what to do with all this snow..
Just giving everyone in the south a heads up because it'll be here before you know it. February 7th at the Nashville Fairgrounds. To those that went last year Ill be in the same spot and to the others that might go I'm on the back wall next to the breeze way tunnel inside the Agriculture Building. There are a couple others on the board that set up as well that will be on the other side of the breezeway on the same wall. Come out and look and preferably buy my junk..
