Restoration / Re: Radiator Overflow Hose - Length

The original still on my '67 04B LOS w/L35 auto-radiator measures exactly at 18 1/2" when using a tape measure to follow the hoses contour. I tried to pry it off the radiator nipple but it is stuck on and I didn't want to risk tearing
 the rubber.

I'm glad it worked out for you.
I used a dab of white lithium grease on the rivet heads. But, my LOS that still has the original rivets has some that are split on one side so it appears that is the nature of the process and materials.

Here are pictures of my original L35 cleaner base (67  05B). The top of the pipe is cut straight and the flame arrester sits with a level look. This sure is tough to pry off!
If you need other pictures let me know.

Just two weeks ago a friend of mine had a similar curiosity and what he did was put a small carpenters magnetic level on top of the tail pipe extension to level it horizontally then used his iPhone with a level app installed and placed it against the end cut to get the angle reading. I don't recall what it was though but the idea was clever.

Here is a past thread showing the original carpet tucked under the firewall pad on my 67 LOS coupe (the replacement pad in the thread was for my 67 NOR convertible).

My 67 has a lot of traces of black paint, so I assume they were dipped.

Here are pictures from my 67 04B LOS coupe still with original paint.
The rear valance metal edges by the end spot weld have what definitely looks like seam sealer painted body color so it was likely applied when the rest of the body was sealed.
The right side picture shows a tiny section where I removed the paint from a sealer blob and it shows a cream color sealer. The left side has a more pronounced raised sealer edge.
Maybe the method was a NOR vs. LOS procedure? I recall John Z. stating that LOS Camaro build operation were slightly different than NOR.

Interesting surface texture changes between the VIN and transmission assembly dates areas.
Nice looking car though.

Hi Charley,
Here are two picture of the grill to lower trim and lower trim to lower valance rivet ends using the Aero rivet setting tool. Let me explain the grill lower trim to lower valance rivet direction.
My post from 2014 showing the 04B LOS is from the bottom up on the original trim. My 05B NOR convertible was restored the same way earlier in the 80's using original trim (no repro trim then). I have since re-restored my NOR about 5 years ago and now remember why I HAD to install the rivets from the inside out. The reproduction lower trim has holes that are slightly larger than the original trim (it was cosmetically in bad shape which is why I changed it) so I had to install the rivets the way the manual shows it otherwise the rivets rolled ends would still fall out of the hole when set. When compressing the rivet I stopped just as I would feel the rivet play cease this way I didn't cut into the paint film. My thinking is the reproduction trim sold is for 67 & 68 and 68 used screws (?).  Unless someone makes an exact repro. for 67 I'll have to keep the rivet direction the way the manual shows.  Anyhow, you can see the rivet ends roll nicely. I had two of the trim to valance rivet ends slightly split on one side, but that split is also shown in the photos of the original 04B LOS grill.
Let me know if you need other pictures.

The machining decking marks are pretty obvious on the engine pad. It would be one thing if there was some light decking done to clean the surface and some of the prefix was still left behind, but there would be no raised edges around the fonts. The fact that there are raised edges around the stamped fonts clearly shows it was stamped after decking.
