General Discussion / Re: Old Country Roads
« on: October 21, 2014, 05:15:15 AM »
These cars are meant for those canopies.
I picked up my 67 rs/ss convertible 3 years ago on October 12 in Ontario. Drove back to Alberta through northern Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Montana.
What a trip. My son was 9 then and the fall was perfect weather and color. I will never forget it and neither will he.
We were lucky enough to take it from Alberta to Chicago last summer and back again. A bit warmer (no A/C) in July. But just as nice a trip.
Great time to enjoy our rides:)

Originality / Re: Parts Help
« on: October 20, 2014, 12:19:57 AM »
I will try them for the parts.
Will have to buy a lot over and learn the lesson.
Take a look at the console picture, 8 months old and installed brand new.
I am having a shop paint the original and ill put that in instead I think.
But the same with the gauges, rear taillights, the front rs lights no longer open and close.
It is really disappointing to say the least.

Originality / Parts Help
« on: October 19, 2014, 08:16:03 PM »
Hello everyone.
Can you tell me the best place to buy 1967 Camaro rs/ss parts?
I have bought chrome that was beat to hell when the shop put it on, glass and hardware that fits terribly, door cranks that stripped out after a few uses.
Where do you get high quality parts?
I bought from Year 1 and Classic at various times. But the reproduction stuff seems very hit and miss.
Am I buying at the wrong places?

Any input is appreciated.

Greatly appreciated.
The two I can find are not the right ones.
Currently have a green button from an arcade game wired in, works but looks terrible. LOL.

Hello everyone.
Any ideas on where I can find a neutral safety switch for a 67 Camaro that has a 700R4 transmission?

Thanks

General Discussion / 1967 RS/SS Convertible
« on: April 23, 2013, 04:45:01 AM »
Hi Everyone;
I finally seem to be finished with most of the restoration on my 67 Camaro. Only thing I may do is put in a modern transmission (and keep the original).
I have a question.
How rare is the 67 RS/SS Convertible? It was a Canadian car and has the build sheet from GM.
No Protecto Plate or dealer info.
It has a date and period correct 350 engine that has been built with a mild cam.
Otherwise original. Back to Tahoe Turquoise paint as well.
How rare and roughly what would it be worth? I am keeping the car and will never sell it. But my insurance company is looking for value and I think they are pretty low.
What are your thoughts?

General Discussion / Dash from Wauseon Ohio to Colorado
« on: September 26, 2012, 06:51:54 AM »
Hi guys;
i am in search of someone in Montana close to Sweetgrass if possible.
I have bought a dash out of a 57 Olds for my 57 Buick project but they cant ship to Canada due to oversize.
It would be great if I could find someone to ship it to and to come down and pick it up.
Please let me know if you are close.

thanks

General Discussion / Re: Starter clicking before start
« on: September 11, 2012, 06:47:06 AM »
Ok. I am back and have had the starter issue corrected.
Turns out that it was the starter. I purchased a higher quality starter and the problem is fixed. Strange since we tried two other starters.
But this high performance one works like a charm.
We also solved some of the tire issues. The right rear spring was not fully sitting in the guide area. Loosened the spring and slid it in. Seems much better.
Still rubbing on the right front but I suspect that this will be due to the wheel alignment being off as the alignment has to use the rear wheels for reference.
I will post some of the pictures after the 16th when the new top goes on.
What a time we have had with the local shops that did the work. Absolutely terrible every time.
However, I have found Kurbs Performance in St Albert. Great shop and they have helped out tremendously. :)
Kudos to Brad the owner. Good price and the work is done right.
Thank you to all of you for your help. It is appreciated.

Guys;
Sorry for not responding yet. I am away for a few more days and the car was not finished yet.
I will update once I return and let you know what we find.
Thank you all for the help.

235 70R15
they are about 1 1/2 inches out on the drivers side and look pretty good on the passenger side.
I can post a pic after I get it back.

Thanks for the advice guys. The car is at the tire shop getting the brake conversion gone through and bled and a wheel alignment.
As soon as I get it back tomorrow I will go through the wiring and hopefully get the starter issue fixed.
I will get some better pictures with the rubber and new chrome on her as well.

A second issue with the car is that the new 15 x 8 rear tires.
The drivers side sits outside the wheel well, and the passenger side is inside.
anyone else see this before? It looks like the only fix would be to have the body off frame and reset.
Any thoughts?

I will check the battery and cables.
I already changed the starter though with the same result.
Thanks for the suggestions and I will post what we find.

On another note, we had the car painted in the original Tahoe Turquoise, WOW, a very nice color.
I haven't seen many in this paint and it gets a lot of attention and questions. The wife was the one to be firm that it be repainted the original color and I am sure glad she did.
I have tried to post pictures but I cant get them to attach. Any ideasÉ

Hello.
I have the 67 Camaro rs/ss convertible just about done and ready to roll.
But the engine shop that i had turned out to be a bit of a nightmare, ok to good on the engine build for both the 350 and the 425 Buick, but nasty on the install and set up side.
the starter clicks 20-50 times and then the click gets a weak sound then starts. happens just about every time but sometimes it starts fine for a while.
I though ground maybe but it seems ok.
Any ideas out there?

Thanks
