6-cylinder Camaros / Re: Highly option 6 cylinder car
« on: May 14, 2023, 01:02:58 AM »
The reproduction panels seem to be getting better and better. As you can tell from earlier pictures the car looks to have a surprisingly good cowl section…….unfortunately that’s it for good original metal, rear tail pan didn’t appear to be rust that bad at all, however it dented bad enough that it can’t be saved.

The Original 230 6 cylinder engine runs well and has great compression.

Looks like there’s a difference between hard top and convertible chrome ends…I know Vinly & fabric materials are also different from hardtop to convertible.

I learn things on this site all the time…..never knew Firebirds were smooth!

67 was not smooth, they actually have more groves…here is my factory original unrestored rear armrest on my convertible. April built Norwood car.

In my opinion they do a great job in the 67/68 manual showing differences in the 67 and 68 models…it’s actually good to see them both in the same manual because you can compare the different parts easily thus allowing you to determine if your part is correct for your year (and sometimes even build month) I have not seen the 69 manual however I was thinking it would be okay if they combined all three years. I learned from the manual some of the subtle difference between the two years that I didn’t know before.

I think I have every Camaro book and I feel the 67/68 legends manual is a must have if you are restoring a 67 or 68 to factory correct. I have enjoyed learning things from this manual.

Looking at the posted pictures…..I would bet the farm it’s a real RS SS. Looks to original to be a clone
Trim tag 3L 4P would clinch it.

What I find truly amazing is….everyone knows that today there are more fake  Z’s then they probably built originally…..one of the most cloned cars on the planet and even the clones that are admitted clones bring good sale prices.

Anybody that has one that’s real has gotta feel good knowing how desirable their car is…..after all not to many people cone cars that aren’t desirable to the masses.
