General Discussion / Re: 67 GM tow hitch
« on: February 23, 2024, 12:36:04 PM »
Bought this car last April, it’s a one owner car, original rear quarters, trunk & floor pans, doors and trunk lid and I am in contact with original owner weekly, he bought car new and had dealer put on this trailer hitch. He towed the boat that is in the background in one of the pictures. He confirmed that the trailer hitch was installed by dealer in 1967.
This car is now going through a complete restoration back to original condition with hitch on car.

Looks like head rest seats were added afterwards, not on trim tag.

That'd be Jerry McNeishs car.
Yes you are correct it was. Great benchmark car!

I did also go to nationals to look at some original cars so I can gather “correct” restoration information.
The white 1968 Z28 with cowl plenum in my opinion was an outstanding original car and had a plethora of original information to learn from.

I can buy this car now with the fenders and door installed, the engine, 4 speed transmission, drive shaft and rear end are all in place and working also the deluxe seats and front and back windshield installed….price is $27,000. As just mentioned. No grill or any RS parts, no interior parts other then seats that need recovering. No exterior trim, body work not completed and not painted.
Just wanted opinions

Some of the early 67 L6 cars didn't come with sway bars!

I thought all Convertibles had sway bars regardless of engine or build date? , my 6cyl convertible is April build date and it does have factory sway bar. My 67 327 is February build with exact same sway bar.
