Restoration / Front sway bar and springs
« on: January 24, 2023, 10:58:39 PM »
I’m doing my best for a legends class restoration on my 67 convertible, my original sway bar and front springs appeared to be raw steel from factory with no signs of ever having paint on them….So that’s what I was doing, however everywhere I look it says that sway bar from factory was painted black….was there any exceptions?

General Discussion / 67/68 fender extensions
« on: January 16, 2023, 10:18:00 PM »
Does anybody know what month in 1967 this stamping changed…I know early 1967’s did not have holes and later 1967’s and all 1968’s did have holes. I’m just not sure when the change took place.

6-cylinder Camaros / Highly option 6 cylinder car
« on: December 28, 2022, 04:19:28 AM »
Very Highly optioned 6 cyl car, 250 6 cyl, custom interior, tinted windshield, console with clock, 4 speed, AC, rear antenna, rear defogger, interior decor grip, under dash courtesy lights, rally sport, remote mirror,
Bumper guards, nose stripes. wood steering wheel.

Rare to see 6 cylinder car with this many options. Especially AC and rear defogger….I have never seen those two options on any car together.

Car appears unmolested and authentic. All options on tag are on car.

6-cylinder Camaros / 230 emblem
« on: December 21, 2022, 05:26:53 PM »
I have never seen a “230” engine emblem on any Camaro….I know the “extra cost” 6 cyl 250 engines had factory “250” emblems installed on front fenders….I know some Chevy ll Novas had 230 emblems factory installed (because that could be an option upgrade form a 4 banger). It has always been my belief that no Camaros have ever left factory with “230” emblem.
Someone just told me that they had and original camaro with factory  “230” emblem on the fenders of a Camaro with the original 230 engine.
Has anyone ever seen one?

General Discussion / Question on engine paint
« on: January 27, 2022, 07:13:58 PM »
Looking for advice on the best highest temperature Chevrolet orange engine paint.
Trying to do concourse level restoration. On a six cylinder car, I believe the exhaust manifold was painted engine color when factory built and really would like it not to burn off.

General Discussion / 67 rare convertible nos quarter panel
« on: December 20, 2021, 03:04:37 PM »
I have a nos 67 convertible quarter panel still in GM paper wrap with early embossed telephone receiver shape door jamb….I have never seen another….all other nos ones I have ever seen have later style door jamb embossment.  I also notice that all the reproduction ones have later style embossment…..does anybody make a repo that has the original style.
My original car is an O4 A build date and it has original style telephone shape door jamb …does anyone know when they changed the stamping?
