16  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Early 1968 Z/28 original tires? on: June 02, 2014, 11:05:43 PM
In that case, did striped tires quit at the end of 1967 Z/28 production, and Goodyear WT's start at the beginning of production of 1968 Z/28's?

Bryan

That's a good question. Someone here may know more about it, but I think the red stripe tires ended with the last 67 Z and the wide treads started with the first 68 Z.

No production Z's had white stripe tires.

It's interesting that they talk in detail about the plenum air cleaner, but don't show a picture of it. I'd imagine people reading it at the time would have been confused.

22  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Dealer versus Customer Order on: May 18, 2014, 08:14:39 PM
Would it be safe to say that any first gen Camaro with the special paint code was special ordered for a customer?

Not necessarily. Some dealers were known to special order colors; like Carolina Blue for instance.

Nice color combo. Tach is likely correct, pad is suspicious.

Quarter-panel challenged. I noticed it's not running the T/A shaker hood scoop. Was that not approved by the SCCA?
