Anyone out there building a streetable T/A clone?  I see alot of Mustangs being built but no Camaros. Everyone in my area is into drag cars. I seem to be the only T/A nut.  If you are working on one post some pictures, I would love to see them. I am a Mustang guy but I like anything Trans Am related.

Do the sand cast carbs have thicker base plates where the studs go through than the cast versions?

I have never seen a Weber lid like that before. I wonder if there are any around yet.

I am a Ford guy and even I would not put a 9" in a Penske Camaro. That is just wrong. They ran them with 12 bolts back then, why not now. You can even get completely new 12 bolts these days.  Don't even get me started about small block Chevys in a Ford!!

This is a cap I had made for a Mustang I am doing.

The black part on the top that is hinged at the back comes to a point to form a "y" at the other end. The single black lever in the middle is folded over the end of the y to hold it closed.

Somewhere there was an in depth discussion about this on the Boss 302 site but I could not find it. In one of the old Trans Am videos ther is a very short clip of an AMC driver with his helmet on under the hood working the throttle. If you stop it in the right spot you can see the dominator carbs. An AMC guy later posted some info about the intake and possably a picture. It was a tall IR type manifold that was the reason for the tall hood.

It is interesting that the Holleys ended up on a Firebird and at least one AMX as their design was funded by Ford when SCCA decide to not let Ford run the Autolite inline carbs.
