Why no headlamp bezels? Did they install larger european style lamps for this race?

I see alot of the race motors running the belts with the yellow? stripes on them. What's the story with the belts, were they a performance belt and who made them?

That is sharp looking! I like the way it sits. How close are the tires to the fender when you turn?

That realliy is a nice car! I love the original unrestored cars the most. My friend has a 67 Z/28 that has super low miles becuase it was drag raced from new then sat apart most of it's life. White with black vinyl top. Original paint and interior. It is a302 car. His wife has a citrus green 70 Z/28 with 33,000 on it all original. Another friend just bought a 70 Z/28 that is a copper/brown color that has 30k on it too. Was repainted once but mostly original.I am still suprised no one on here has  built a Mark Donohue clone.

I see Riverside was the last race, maybe this was the newest fuel filler version.

Was Riverside early in the year? I ask that because Parnelli's car did not use that flapper fuel filler for long. Most pictures show the big aluminum lid with the knob on it. It also appears to be missing the two chrome marker bezels that they used as fuel tank vents above the stock gas cap location. The white part of the roof is very wide on this car too. Also has a chrome bumper, some were black but I think they put steel ones on the rear to balance out the weight. There is actually a factory light weight steel front bumper for sale on ebay right now.

The top is only 1 layer of sheet metal with a little acid dipping thrown in. The pictures are of my car that I am working on. I reinforced the top lip of the rad support. Some 69's had the pins inward like mine, mostly the Shelby cars and some outward near the fender like the Bud Moore cars.

There is a picture of Smokey's engine on The Ponysite form 1969 and the motor is blue. Maybe just the Chevy motors were gold. As for the hood pins the second picture has them where the stock hood bumpers would go. I know that is a stronger mounting point compared to the top of the rad support lip which you can flex with your hand. Not really sure if that is why they moved them, just guessing. The aluminum air boxes are a work of art!
