You luck into a model marketing show and listen. Just part of the junk that floats around in my mind. Some escapes, some get lost, the rest just bounce around in there.

Not a real excuse for the model makers: but, 20 years ago it cost about $25,000, or more, to bring a single model to market, regardless of scale. At that price it is wonder they remember to put four wheels on anything, let alone represent details.

The color is Battleship grey and it is normally used so you can spot oil leaks fast.

Trans-Am Camaros / Re: '69 Penske Camaro Holes in Fenders/Doors/Wheel Wells
« on: February 25, 2016, 10:08:06 PM »
Maybe part of our problem is the actual wording in The Unfair Advantage: "For one thing, we opened up the front fender wells, ... ." Does not say there were holes in the front wells ... sez the front wells were opened up.  But the question is more about the holes in the door pillars and door panels. And as pointed out, we've all seen the holes in the rear wheel wells. I believe Group 7 is right about some magazines' cutaways ... .

The problem is that those of us not inside Penske had no idea what was going on. We could only focus on what we could see ... the rear wheel wells. As for the front, I have done everything I can with the negatives and other then Roger's butt (previous image) this is the best I can do with the front wheel well. Sorry, Ron
Opps, image (rescanned) is too large to attach. It is #72 in my 1969 MIS coverage.
