Originality / Don't know Jack about Camaros Part 4
« on: July 22, 2022, 12:23:59 AM »
Working on the jack section for the 1967 / 1968 Camaro Legends Judging Manual - Went thru old threads here as well as other sources. It appears Ryerson & Haynes was the supplier to Norwood in 1967 and early model year 1968 thru November or December, 1967. Then Universal became sole or primary supplier.  Also, there were two versions of the Universal load rest or lift hook in 1968. First has 1968 Camaro UN on the face. The second had that writing on the back or underside. Do not know if this was random or a date transition. Any help in verifying or correcting these issues would be appreciated. Need know original jacks. thanks

I am familiar with the Universal and Walker jacks. Has anyone seen either of these two jack types in a 67 or 68 Camaro? And who is the manufacturer

Flat. The other style didn't start showing up until August

Cook DW - What is the finish? Suede or smooth. We are seeing conflicting reports with some saying suede and others eggshell smooth. Also - what about the bolts for the corners ? Painted or left bright ? thanks for all the help

Working on the 67/68 Legends Manual and have a question for anyone owning a survivor 1968. What is the the finish on the rear window filler and filler corner pieces? This is the metal piece below the rear window and sail panels and above the package tray. Is it a smooth egg shell finish or a textured suede finish like the top of the dash. And what is the build date of car ?  Thanks, Brad

Here are the fuel line clips as called for in the 1967 and 1968 assembly manual - not showing the riveted clips before the last bracket.  The first fold over clip in on the engine cradle. The second is on the top of the frame rail under the heater box. Seeing some 1967 cars with a riveted clip instead

The 67 Assembly manual calls for a fold over clip on top of the frame rail by the heater box.  Has anyone with an original or survivor 67 seen this clip replaced with a double riveted clip like the two on the side of the frame rail? Seeing examples from LA cars and one Norwood car where the riveted double clip was used rather than the fold over clip. thanks

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Dating plastic rear window 69 Camaro

Code on my original 1967 Pace Car top is 3 H 7 - Thinking that the prior commenter is correct - Month, Style, Year. In my case it would be March 1967. This makes sense to me. So we have a 69, 68 and 67 top all with the H code.

If it was a late build rear axle, then it might have been stamped originally CBV and the factory would have ground off the C
