Decoding/Numbers / Re: Real or Fake Z28

Thanks - forgot to check Assembly Manual to see when option was discontinued. How about the trim tag ?

Have seen that paint code used before, 1001HA as a special order paint. Car also had dash dash trim tag. 03D build with special order black paint. So guessing code is for special order, whether stripe delete or different, normally unavailable color, do not know

Friend is interested in this 1969 Z28. - Black Rally Sport JL8. Always suspicious of black Z28's and being an RS more than doubly so.

Thanks for the help. Vin does line up with build date.

No - I love the sound.  Run a car with headers thru open exhaust. That is loud but music to some

Putting my car back together after a project that went far too long. Remember sound of a solid lifter big block thru the chambered. And especially the echoes going on roads with overpasses. It is not supposed to be quiet. That is why it was canceled

Originality / Re: Two tone paint on a 69 Z/28 ?

There  is a drag car here in Rochester that started life as a Z/28 - two tone red with white painted top.  Too many alterations to bring back, let alone the long gone drive train. X33 car

Originality / 1969 Convertible Rear Wiring
« on: December 05, 2015, 10:58:43 PM »
Car has been apart far too long. Have questions on the rear wiring. Does the wiring for the convertible top motor go under the rear seat backing or on top and is hidden by the well liner ? And does the wiring for the lights, etc go over the rear wheel well and where does it clip into ? There is one clip on it before the connector. Thanks

Restoration / 1969 Pace Restoration - Pin Stripes
« on: March 23, 2015, 06:45:08 PM »
In the process of restoring a 1969 Pace Car. My intention is to put the Indy 500 door decals on the car. Originally, the pin stripes would have extended over from the front fenders into the doors. My question is : Should I put the pin stripes on that way or stop them at the fender ? Just looking for feedback. Thanks

Originality / Re: 69 04D 14x7 rally wheel trim ring & center caps
« on: September 10, 2014, 07:53:22 PM »
The 14 x 7 trim rings used the 4 clip design throughout the model year. The original ones I have for an 04C build are 4 clip. I think it was just the 15 inch trim rings that changed mid to late year.

Assembly manual shows it for the L78. Bracket is mounted to the valve cover to hold the tube
