Sorry to hear about the posts being removed. I have volunteered to help the ACA plan for their special Pace Car and LE display at the nationals. Would like to get some of the NASCAR Pace Cars into the display. If you know of any of the owners please let them know and have them contact me. Show is June 21 - 23. Thanks

Have you posted this on the Camaro Pace Car site. Any better photos of that 69 Pace Car. Thanks

Restoration / Re: Dash suede paint
« on: January 25, 2018, 04:58:57 PM »
SEM makes a textured paint as does Rustoleum in spray cans. If you experiment with the distance that you are spraying I think you can replicate the suede finish. I used it on the heater under the dash and thought it came out fine. Heater also receives the suede paint. Trying to keep my original dash paint though.

I also encountered a couple of questionable NCRS reports.  On  one car, the dealer on the NCRS form did not match the dealer on the Protecto-Plate. On the other car, the dealer was given as being 125 miles away from the original owner. Car with owner history, no paperwork.

There was a guy on the Camaro Pace cars web site that seemed to have lots of photos or knew where to look.  You could always try contacting the track or the sponsors of the race and see what they have in their archives

Here is mine. However, I did have a 1975 inspection sticker on my "barn find" when I bought it

Mirror on your Z has Donnelly glass so should have the parting line in my opinion

Restoration / Re: Leaf spring restoration
« on: November 25, 2017, 12:47:02 AM »
I've rebuilt the springs before. If there was an issue with sagging or height, I went to a professional spring shop and had them re-arced. Putting the new clamps on was not bad. The advantage of restoring original springs is they are generally marked GM whereas the repros are not marked. Just if you are critical of originality

General Discussion / Re: 1969 Z28 Oil Question

Please keep your original dip stick.  Look at the dip stick you bought and see if it says MS or SE under oil type. SE would be later. Had the same issue with an original dip stick I needed.

My car is also a Canadian car and was sold by the dealer without the smog. Holes plugged. Original owner, a woman, confirmed this.

All the other guages work though so I didn't think it would be a ground

Restoration / Temperature Guage won't go off cold
« on: September 26, 2017, 07:35:24 PM »
Restored my car with a new engine wiring harness. All guages worked before disassembly.  After re-assembly, the original temp guage doesn't work. Stays on cold. Goes hot when grounded.  Have changed out the temperature sender twice with no teflon tape. Just bought a repro fuel guage for the car and it doesn't work. Any suggestions as to what is wrong ?
