Originality / AM antenna masts and wiper blades
« on: June 11, 2021, 03:03:57 PM »

Seeing two different types of original AM antenna masts. One with a groove in the tip and another with no groove. Does anyone know if this is due to two different manufacturers or was there a manufacturing transition?  Also, there seem to be two different designs of Trico wiper blades that hold the rubber refills. One style is peaked. The other is flat. With both being marked Trico Made in USA. Was this due to a transition. With one style being an early style and the other later. Or was the flat style strictly a replacement ? thanks

Minor originality question. Is the door jamb vent held in place with a silver cad Phillips screw or a black finish Phillips ? thanks

Not quite a Camaro topic but I came across these and have never seen them before. 1969 Chevrolet vs Chrysler and vs Ford Product Comparisons. I have seen lots of automobilia but not these

Originality / Wiper Trico Blade Holders
« on: March 13, 2021, 08:47:17 PM »
I am seeing two styles of the Trico wiper blade holders - the part of the wiper that holds the rubber blade. One style is flat which is what I have on my 1968 and April build 1969. Just saw a late September 1969 original car and it had the point style or where the sides come to a crest like on a roof line. Which is the correct original style or is it another early vs late year change ? thanks

What was the finish on the automatic transmission dip stick and tubes, specifically 1969 TH400. Were they painted black ?

Originality / 660 Thermostat Housing - Neck vs. Outer Lip
« on: March 05, 2021, 08:01:29 PM »
Would anyone have a definitive answer as to why some 660 thermostats have the number marked on the outer lip while other housings have it on the neck. My 04C car has its original and it is on the outer lip. My 06A car is unknown as to originality but has the number on the neck. Thanks

Mild Modifications / Distributor conversion to electronic ignition
« on: March 05, 2021, 03:53:55 PM »
Who makes the best conversion to electronic ignition? Looking for product that only has one wire coming out so the distributor doesn't show that it's been converted.  Thanks

Originality / Legends - You don't know jack about Camaros Part 3

1968 Jack bases  from Universal seem to have a tear drop cut out in them.  Are there any other styles ? What do people have for 1967 bases ?  Thanks for your help. Looking to get intro the finer details

Originality / Legends - You don't know jack about Camaros Part 2
« on: May 09, 2020, 09:34:26 PM »
For the 1969 model year, Universal looks to have 2 different style lift hooks and bases. Early cars before December have a lift hook with only one hole. January and later have 2 small holes. Likewise, the familiar U69 base seems to come in at the same time. With a different base for earlier cars. We really need input on this. Thanks for any help

Originality / Legends - You don't know jack about Camaros
« on: May 09, 2020, 09:29:10 PM »
We're looking to update Legends for a number of areas. One area is the jack assembly. Tried to follow the threads on here but we are looking at more details. Most of the cars we see are Norwood with the Universal jack assembly. Only a couple of LA cars which should have the Walker jack.  Jack handles - aka lug wrenches - 1967 and 1968 seem to be one style and 1969 another . All have the raised O on the socket. The 1968 has a longer or deeper socket than the 1969. Does this seem true with what the Group has seen ?

Originality / Legends Update
« on: May 03, 2020, 10:25:45 PM »
Legends Update - the judges have discussed a couple of judging updates. We would welcome and need some input on a couple of updates. First update is on Flashers - Hazard and Turn Signal. The 69 AIM shows the 3928799 Hazard Flasher as Standard with 3904868 and 3934200 as optional. Turn Signal is 390954 as standard with 383638 as optional. The 1968 AIM has these reversed. As does the 67 AIM. The 67 AIM shows the Hazard Flasher as 1381303 as Standard and 3883794 as optional.

From what we know, the Tung-Sol 552 Flasher was standard as a Hazard Flasher with the Signal-Stat 175 as an option for Rally Sport cars. The Tung-Sol 224 Flasher was standard for Turn Signal with the Tung-Sol 552 as an option.  All of these flashers are non-DOT.

Questions that would help us would be - What is the 3rd optional hazard flasher in 1969 ? The Signal Stat 175 went through a change from 1967 to 1968. Was this strictly a model year change or a transitional change? The 1967 Signal Stat is all silver in color. The Tung-Sol 552 also is seen in 2 finishes - silver and a brass/gold color. Is this a model year change or other.?

Thanks for any help. Brad

General Discussion / Camaro Nationals
« on: May 03, 2020, 10:09:49 PM »
I hope all know that the Camaro Nationals has been canceled for this year. Looking forward to 2021 and seeing all our Camaro friends again. We had planned on using more of the buildings this year - for an extended special display and for more vendors. Let us know what we can do to make the show better for everyone. Hard to beat a large indoor air conditioned facility that the Nationals has in Frederick, MD
