Originality / Starter L78
« on: April 06, 2016, 03:44:09 PM »
My Car is a 1968 LOS L78 Camaro 02C. I am looking for info on starter motors. The AMA spec calls out 1107365. But I have not yet seen one dated early 68. Most are 1965, 66, 67. I have a late 67 1108365 that came with the car. Is it possible there was a running change on these? Thanks, Paul

looks like a gas tank sender ground wire.

Another thing I noticed with these alternators of many different stamped 1100xxx numbers and dates is that some have the - after the date and some don't. Also the spacing of the numbers/ letters is varied.
7H 1012VNEG
7H10-12VNEG
Different Delco plants? Any NOR / LOS patterns there?

My 02C LOS L78 has a 7H10 on it. Is there any known VIN starting point for 8A9 alternators?

i don't know window stickers- but the window sticker shown has N instead of L in VIN. is that correct?

General Discussion / 14x7 YJ Rally Wheel Trim Rings

What is the correct width trim ring for this wheel? I see 2.5" 2.75" and 3" available.
Are they the same as the ring for the SS wheel? Thank you.

There is something else I can not make out what is.  Looks like a bracket of some sort just in front of the heater box.  I thought it was part of the hood hinge but you can see it just to the left.

could that be a splash apron piece that is askew?

What are those little baby screws on the top of the Holley near the horn rounding edge? There is some little white goop covering them. One on each side. Are they some sort of bowl adjustment. Do we touch those?... Danny

those are air bleed adjustment screws. they are factory preset and should not have to be adjusted.

I asked the seller about the VIN and here is the reply.

"Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you are correct. I checked the VIN near the windshield and it doesn't have the extra "9". All other characters are the same."

Is it me or is that VIN on the title incorrect? Too many digits after the L? No pic of the actual VIN.
