1  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Decoding a Pace on: July 24, 2014, 06:41:27 PM
At this point in time the Chevrolet build records are presumed destroyed so unless your vehicle was exported to Canada there are no official records besides the rare dealership cache and of course the original owners copies. SO if you are lucky to have the POP and dealer invoice your all set.

My Z11 is two weeks earlier 03B And your vin sequence is in line for the production date. Body numbers can be misleading since the number is generated by the central office based on order, and may take weeks for the body number to be released based on options and availability.

What shape is she in? Have you posted over at Team Camaro?

5  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Carb Spring Bracket finish for 1969 L48 on: June 21, 2014, 03:30:35 AM
That's funny.
I just evapo-rust treated both the springs on mine.
One has residue of green paint inside the spring and the other is all black.
Guess the PO wanted to have the best of both?
I put them both back on since I didn't like the throttle feel with just either one of them.

My coil bracket is dull aluminum-ish in color so maybe it was / is natural or it was phosphate, but not black as far as I can tell.

Yes - check the sender ground first. You can troubleshoot the sender, harness and gauge following the troubleshooter over at TC:

15  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Are the reproduction wheel well moldings any good yet? on: January 02, 2014, 12:50:32 PM
I found I was missing one of mine after 20 years. I bought "concourse grade" from Ricks - total Skit - unusable. Then I bought one from Classic - not much better - but usable - had to make a couple relief cuts at the bolt holes to get it to bend right at the bottom. Otherwise it does kinda look like the three OEM's already on the vehicle. It is a bit thinner which actually helped because if it was original thickness it would have never formed right without a few wacks of Thor's hammer.
