Meant Deluxe.

Do RS's come with standard? I have only seen Deluxe.

Mine has deluxe. The seat came out of a 68' Firebird coup with armrests.

I should be fine.

Traded straight across for some frame rails that I had from 10 years back so I am satisfied.

Thanks a million! I did realize they were the same width, but did NOT realize they were different between coupe and convertible.

Thankfully these came out of a coupe!

I need to replace my rear seat, 67 Camaro RS. My dad found one out of a 68 Firebird that is in pretty solid shape. Will it interchange both in fit as well as upholstery?

All,

I am looking for some thoughts on the lengths I should go to save the original sheet metal. I don't have a numbers matching car, but do have a correctly coded SS350 for what would have come with the car. I have all original sheet metal at the moment (but did pick up a new SS hood as the first one was really damaged badly). Both front fenders and the driver side door have a fair amout body work that would need to be done as with the front valance.

How much should I fight to save the original sheet metal versus just buying new? Where do folks recommend for quality/fit if I do go with new?

All, what is the best adhesive product to install the roofrail weather strip channels above the windows? A wide flat foam type strip is what came off of it originally.

Perfect. Thanks. The thing that threw me was the difference in the skirt supports coming off of the firewall. The passenger side had the nuts manufactured in the support, the driver's side had square cut-outs in the support requiring a separate nut and bolt so Chevrolet thought about something from the start.

Mine isn't a survivor but it has been off the streets since '87 so much had not been messed with.

Ok... now with the pertinent information...

The support extending from the firewall to the fender skirt on the driver's side shows per the 67 Camaro Assembly manual to have a 'retainer' coming off of it (3921854). I think I have verified that this was for Camaros with a clutch. I have parts everywhere... and took pretty good pictures prior, but missed this one when I disassembled it. Mine was a powerglide car. Do I have to worry about this retainer? Did one come on the car and I just misplaced it after taking it off?

I am retired military, lived all over the US and nearly 15 years overseas... the only place I said I wouldn't prefer to live was the southeast for all those reasons...

I did my first tour of duty on submarines in 1992 here and said... never again...

This time around though, the AC everywhere! The culture and quality of the folks, the town of Charleston, pace of life, RESTAURANTS! and all that brings has definitely turned me though... not to mention all the enthusiasts with the right kind of things... (rollin' thunder stuff...)
