Restoration / 69 Washer hoses
« on: September 30, 2011, 04:16:39 PM »
Need a new set of hoses for standard non RS car. Everybody sells them but who makes the best and looks most correct. Classic Muscle has 2 sets, one ribbed and one with GM stamps, which would be more correct.
Thanks for the input

Restoration / Front Spoiler 69 cars
« on: September 12, 2011, 10:58:40 PM »
We are currently running the standard repro front hardware spoiler kit (original spoiler car). Does anyone make or can someone suggest a more correct mounting hardware set that includes correct bolts, nuts washer etc. as shown in the AIM D80 A1 section. I am sure the existing brackets will still work fine.
Thanks for the help

« on: September 08, 2011, 03:47:16 PM »
I have attached a photo of a wiring harness clip. I need one of these, it’s the one that goes around the wire bundle next to the Voltage Regulator. I have check around and have not been able to locate them.
Any leads would be appreciated.

Originality / Sill Plates 69 cars
« on: September 06, 2011, 02:36:32 PM »
Did the original sill plates have little rivet/screw heads at either side of the Fisher Body coach works emblem? I have seen both types with and without. Which is correct?
Thanks

Originality / Hi Perf. Alt Pulley & Fan 69 Z/28
« on: September 01, 2011, 12:12:41 AM »
Need correct finish for both parts.  McNeish says silver cad, I got that but is that a high gloss finish or a dull (er) type of finish. I think they may have been high gloss finish originally but after the cars driven the finish dulls somewhat?
Whats your opinion troops?
Thanks as always for all the help

General Discussion / 2 Real Z/28's Saved
« on: July 28, 2011, 10:29:08 PM »
In the last Month I have seen 2 real original #'s matched 1969 Z/28's being restored within a 30 mile radius in the greater Los Angeles CA area.
First car is 715 51 51 08D X77D80 second car is 711 57 57 10B (small tag) LA car. Hidden vin matched the vin on dash although I did not see trans or engine but was told that everything matches!
This is great to see and was gald that they are being saved and restored to original condition.
I hope the owners will add them to the registery.
Good news for us 69Z fans

Maintenance / Battery 69 Z/28
« on: July 19, 2011, 12:35:54 AM »
Howdy Troops
We purchased an Antique Auto Battery R59 gel battery for our Z. Do any other memebers run one of these and have you had problems with any moisture etc hitting the top and discoloring or distorting the finish? The mfg recommended tire foam (no brand recommended) to make the top shinny and look new but that was a waste of 6 bucks! Any suggestions? I hate to have to by a new battery since the top looks like crap due to water damage and coolant being sprayed all over it.
Thanks

Trying to find out correct bolt head markings for upper fender bolts. These are the bolts that are positioned at the very rear of the fenders in either corner and thread into the top of  the fender in front of the upper vented cowl panel.

Restoration / First Gen Hood Hinges
« on: May 21, 2011, 05:02:44 AM »
Does anyone know if there is any difference between 67 to 69 hood hinges besides maybe manufactures or some stampings. I have one set that has N style stampings and another that has double AA stampings.
Were the 2 gen hinges the same as first gen?
Can anyone suggest what type of lube/grease to use on freshly restored phosphated hinges
Also looking for a set of springs (2) for ZL/2 hood, 26 coils.
Thanks for the tips etc.
