Sounds like the buzzer may be grounding through the tach. Is it an in dash tach or separate tach mounted on the column or someplace else? Where is the buzzer supposed to ground?

With the ground wire attached do you still get the crazy tach and hot contact? I believe there should be a separate ground wire from the instrument cluster. A star washer under the ground wire will make a better connection.

I guess I'll have to cut it after all. You can put these hoses side by side in various
positions and make either hose appear longer or shorter than the other. I thought I was going crazy. Bottom line is when either one is installed they are both too long. At least I have two, one extra if I screw it up.

Finally got a reply, apparently they're pretty busy. opted for the newer hose.

Sorry about the delay, we are doing our best to keep up at the moment.

I checked the hoses we have here, we have a couple in stock from last year and some newer ones from February. The newer ones are shorter by a bit on each end, I agree. No one has let us know they have had fitment issues until you have, so we have been unaware of any issues. The hose you have can be trimmed to fit if you are needing to get in on asap. If you do not wish to, I would be happy to get this hose here I have out to you, not a problem. Just please let me know either way.

I'm waiting for the vendor to reply. I'll probably wind up cutting to fit.

68 Z 3892650 hose. Hose seems a little too long. Does anyone have a straight end to end measurement for this. Or am I missing something?

The pink with the black stripe is a 20 ga. I think it might go on the center KEY + terminal.

I need to know what colored wires go to which terminals on the ignition switch. I think I figured it out but need to be sure. I think I have it figured out but not sure of the pink with black stripe and the green.

Does anyone know if the tube for the right valve cover on the base of the cowl induction air cleaner is available anywhere? It's for a Z/28, not shown as a separate part in the AIM.

Maintenance / Re: Push rods, which end up?
« on: March 12, 2020, 10:29:13 PM »
Thanks, no bluing from hardening process and the ends are like new chrome, no marks at all. Push rods may be made of a hardened steel. I just thought the larger opening would flow more oil through the rocker arm hole. 45 plus years is a lot of time to forget things.
