COOL, another cross ram engine with the aluminum valve covers and perhaps Stahl headers. ;D

They mounted the coil just like I did when I first installed a cross ram back in the early 90's. 8) This will clear either original air cleaner base. However, the studs are missing from both carbs so they may not have used an air cleaner . :o

Wonder where that hose from the PCV valve goes? Appears they also used a mechanical fuel pump.

Hello Steve and Welcome,

I love seeing the Camaro's from your part of the world.

I have been watching the discussion about the "Bob Jane" 69 Camaro on your website as well. 8)

Can hardly wait for the others..................

I continue to admire and respect the work and attention to detail that is put into these pieces of art that you create 8).

The January 1970 Motorcade magazine shows the 69 Gregory camaro with a "Traco" 302 with the aluminum valve covers ;D.

I'm fairly certain I remember a 69 Camaro with an endura bumper 8) leading the pack towards turn 2 at Laguna Seca in 1969. The picture must of come from Jon at some point. I'll see if I can find it.

ODD that the drivers side carburetor in the above photo is facing forward. I don't ever recall seeing that before.

The first time I saw the car was at the Palm Springs event, 1992 or so. I remember noticing how odd that arrangement looked. I know I took pictures but they are certainly buried in a box somewhere.

I seem to recall that the Chaffey College 67 had TWO original front anti sway bars with the extra one mounted above the frame rail.

I'm sure we all understand what is being discussed here but I'm thinking the proper term is "Anti Sway Bar". ;D

If you look real closely over Bucknans collar on his jacket you can see the Traco logo on both the door and the toolbox of the ramp truck in the background. ;D

Thank you Jon for posting these pictures for all those interested to enjoy.

Bruce; I have checked the aluminum blocks but they are not numbered. Certainly worn but not numbered.

Since these pictures were taken I have disassembled the front subframe for repair and restoration. I  just hated to do that because I just love the originality and "patina' that it had.

I agree, a VERY COOL aspect of our hobby 8). I enjoy viewing your work and can appreciate/applaud your efforts to be technically correct.
Keep up the great work :)

I'm thinking that they felt it was more reliable and less prone to damage during a race. The fact is if you lose INTERNAL oil pressure your probably done for the day. If the mechanical oil pressure line gets damaged, burned, cracked etc or done as well. However, if just the wire gets wounded your still in the race.

I doubt the "reproduction" valve covers are even close to the chrome Traco covers. Aftermarket covers I have seen are symmetrical if you view them from the end. If you notice the first picture of the chrome Traco covers you may be able to notice the difference I'm talking about. The top side is closer to a 90 degree than that of the lower side. Thus if you were to install them wrong ::) (Traco decal upside down) the rockers may actually hit the inside of the cover. So if you were to install the previously mentioned "Chevrolet" script covers with the lettering upside down the rockers would hit the covers. The profile view is also different on the cast aluminum 69+ 302/LT1 valve covers.

I agree Jon, and while at the recyclers you never know what you may find. Perhaps just the right hook to hang the steering wheel from.

Question; will the correct old style valve covers still fit on Brzezinki heads?
