I remember that if you were a new novice racer in Ontario, and maybe in other provinces, that you were required to display the triangle sign, to warn the senior drivers
that you were just a rookie.  You had to wear the triangle for the required 3 novice races before being eligible for a senior license.  Not sure if that is still the case.

So, do we know who the first owner was, who did not complete the car?

Eric,

I did not use power steering, and remember it was not used by most drivers.  It was tried early on but there were reliability problems.

My friend Al Ratcliff built a 69 T/A camaro in 76, which I drove a few times, that was eventually changed to power steering in 79.  Remember,
that in later years the T/A races were not as long as in the early days.  Al thought p/s was worth 1-2 seconds in lap time,

Look at the driver line-up for that race - F1 guys, IMSA guys, Nascar guys, Trans-AM guys, FIA guys - quite the entry.

Solid sub frame bushiings not allowed?  I thought that was ok.

Never drove in the T/A races there, but did tow Rick Stevens and his 1293 Mini down there with my 401 Buick powered 58 Pontiac wagon in 66 I think for a SCCA National.  Don't remember much
about the track except that Rick got off the surface and lightly rolled his Mini.  Not much damage but that was the end of the racing for him that weekend.

This is what happened to the 67 camaro that I drove for Al - was  raced at the pavement track Pinecrest Speedway near Toronto -
was wrecked and parted out in 75/76.

Note that Will Cagle, famous NE modified dirt racer, was recruited to drive the Jockos 68 camaro at the 72 Lime Rock T/A - car only lasted a few laps before overheating.

The Peter Schwartzott 69 camaro was sold to Warren Agor at the end of the 70 season I was told.

Sadly, Brock is fighting Alzheimer's.

10  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 67 VIN # on: November 05, 2014, 05:29:13 PM
I am going to look at a 67 and was given this vin over the ph.   123377L155047 by the current owner. He said it is an SS clone car with a v8 and 4 speed.

Maybe was a 6 cyl car when new?  Any info will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Very sad news - just learned that Warren passed Oct. 29 - only 72.

Spoke to him after many years at the 2013 Glen Sept. SVRA vintage races that featured the HTA group.

Warren was a top competitor in T/A, IMSA, and Can-AM - see   racingsportscars.com

Thanks for the 72 Glen photos.  It was the last T/A race for old and getting tired 67 camaro warrior. We were dnf with "engine problems".  Not a good way to end our run.

Steve, you may not be aware. but most people in Quebec speak French - see Quebec history on Wiki.  Sometimes you would get both French and English side by side in publications.
I remember that when racing at St. Jovite, it was helpful to know a few words of French.

A vintage racer I know might be interested in joining the HTA group - any "barn finds" or other HTA cars for sale out there?
