Phil Henny's new book, Al Bartz Engine Man is now available.  Phil was employed by Bartz, working on his classic cars... And Bartz even used many of Henny's dry sump oil pans.

Phil has listed the book here on eBay for the next 5 days.  He will suspend the eBay auction for a few weeks while he's on the road to Watkins Glen for a Shelby reunion.

By June 25, 2012, the book will be back on eBay and Amazon.

Hello Pigpen,

Would it be safe to assume that your TRACO remote oil filter mount and block mount adapters were also made by the folks who made your intake bits? 

Though perhaps varying a bit from the period TRACO pieces, these cast pieces from AVIAID are at least helpful to explain the bits I speak of.

If you do remember the vendor, I'd enjoy hearing their name.  I have another old race car that was built in the area, with some one-off castings.  Knowing who you folks used might be helpful in sparking the memory of some of the folks in my car's past.

Thanks again for sharing your insight and knowledge of TRACO.  I know that many on this forum, myself included, are very big fans of all that you folks produced and built.

Though I like all the DANA Camaro detail, it's also great to see their tube-frame McLarens.  The small block Chevy with the side-draft Webers, bolted to a Hewland LG-500 transaxle, which is sitting on top of a wooden shipping container labeled ELVA (who produced the "customer" McLarens), is pretty cool too.

For the '70 season the ARA racing team had two '69 Camaros.  One was ex-Penske and the other was their own creation.

Great period article on this 1970 season, '69 ARA Camaro.  Thanks for posting this, Jon.

Though many corrections could be made to the text, one that I think really deserves straightening out is where the article states:

  "Similar to the Penske-Donohue Camaro, ARA has installed a Watts Linkage aft of the rear end housing."

The Penske Camaros used a Panhard bar, not a Watts Link. 

This ARA Camaro is awfully similar to a 1969 Titus-Godsall Firebird in it's construction, given that Jerry Schwarz put his hands on both.

Really fantastic detail photos in this article, even if they're reproduced on newsprint style paper.

That pic with the strange shifter is marked, and certainly looks like a '69 interior. If I read correctly, this was the 69 car set up with the 70 changes before the new bodies turned up.

This is hard to say, but you're probably right, Bruce.

The shifter handle comment was said in jest.  I guess I should have put a smiley face after the sentence. 

It surely couldn't have been at that angle... though an era-correct 427 Cobra shifter handle is arguably just as goofy.
