Price of the unit on the car invoice is much less?  Or am I reading it incorrectly?

Funny that "Nishan Spalding Chevrolet" in reply #1 was a Michigan dealer located not to far from Berger Chevrolet.  They delivered my 69 FG COPO Camaro.

General Discussion / Re: 50’s & 60’s Assembly line workers
« on: April 25, 2020, 10:56:56 AM »
As part of the GMI co-op program, we had to work on the assembly line (St Louis) during some work sections.  The "instruction" consisted of doing the job(s) along side the assembly worker until you could keep up with the line.  Most jobs took only a couple of hours to be able to keep up.  Some were more difficult for me.  I never could get 4 body bolts secured on the Corvette line without cross threading at least one!  Most assembly workers who worked the same job every day could do the job competently with ease.  Relief and utility workers could (and did) relieve 2 workers at once - they could easily keep up doing 2 jobs (against shop rules, but no one seemed to care).

Hershey was great again this year.  Weather couldn't have been better IMO.  I even got to show my Challenger as one of the two feature cars :-)

General Discussion / Re: Original dealer info for 1st gens is available
« on: September 10, 2019, 09:16:04 PM »
My NCRS report came back as dealer 251 in zone 14.  No dealer name was available, but I believe that it must have been Blaise Alexander's new (in the late 60s) dealership in south central PA.  Blaise had an existing dealership in the DC area that was dealer code 250 in zone 14, so I believe that they gave the new PA Blaise dealership location the next sequential dealer code and placed it in zone 14 with the older Blaise dealership (even though most PA dealerships were not in zone 14).  Blaise has an existing dealership in the Lebanon, PA area today.

If anyone can add or subtract from this information, please PM or post.

General Discussion / Re: 67 RS headlight motor issue

I had the same problem with the doors "bouncing" against the radiator support limit when light switch was turned on.  Just needed to tighten up the nut on the friction washer (the passenger side was the problem for me) so that the door stayed pressed against the limit switch.  Not sure if that's your issue, but it seemed to solve my problem.

It was a great day!  Very well attended and lots of spectators.  For an additional bonus - my car won second place in "kids choice"!  Looking forward to Hershey already.

I'll have my 67 marina blue Corvette there.  Also, Chick's beautiful 68 Z will be there.

There are some senior AACA judges on this forum who can provide feedback.  I have run seven cars through Grand National, so I can try to respond.  The car will be judged to be as it was delivered from the dealership to the first owner.  Any dealer modifications, however, must be documented as having been offered by the dealer.  For example - my 69 Yenko Camaro had Atlas wheels and traction bars  - I did not receive any deductions for those additions because I had Yenko literature that indicated them as optional dealership additions.

You will need your bumper jack.  Also, depending on the level of expertise of the judges, you may need correct stickers in place.  The most common major deductions on first junior judging are for radial tires, halogen headlights, and incorrect batteries (correct battery topper will receive most of the points).

In general, AACA judging is a great experience - you'll meet some really fine People for sure.

General Discussion / Endura Bumper Feedback
« on: November 23, 2017, 10:21:23 PM »
I know that it's been discussed before, but I don't recall seeing any feedback from anyone who tried to install the new(er) '69 camaro endura bumper from Heartbeat.  They say that it's made identical to the original.  I called over to Heartbeat and they say that they installed one and it's perfect.  I asked for pictures and so far - nothing.  I'm thinking that's not a good sign?
