Foreign Camaros / Re: Is this the first 69 Camaro sold direct to Sweden?
« on: November 06, 2013, 07:25:56 AM »
Man finding another Camaro, or sighting of another let alone another 69 in sweden while you guys are rolling yours must be wild sight. If I was visiting Sweden and saw (3) 69 Camaros rolling down the street I think that would have to do a double take, I thought there were just Volvo shows over there?? :D

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Help ! 69 without a protectoplate
« on: November 06, 2013, 05:12:33 AM »
Welcome to the forum! Other than the bulk head what other areas have you checked for paint? A couple of places to look for original paint that usually don't get prepped enough is the door jams and where the hinges mount to he doors. A lot of time you will see paint flake off the hinges or in that vicinity because it was sanded down real good. Another spot would be in the wheel wells ( on the lip) and in the rocker moulding area, these too are areas that are over looked when guys go to prep a car for paint. If the car was somewhat original to start with you could check the front spring rates and some other exclusive big block only parts like the heater hose coming through the firewall as (X-77) pointed out. These areas might point you in the right direction of how your may have been equipped from the factory, but as mentioned without the trim plate or p.o.p. it is just going to be educated guessing. Hope these suggestions help!

6-cylinder Camaros / Re: Upgrading a 230 to a 250
« on: November 05, 2013, 10:27:35 PM »
So I am guessing you are inquiring about the 250 to keep the stock outward appearance, but have a (little) bump in power?
Also who coined it the "mountain motor" chevy lit? made me laugh a bit...sorry

If someone's interested, can always shoot him a personal email---I see the other side of it. I see it as we sort of get an opportunity to purchase before it hits mainstream. I can see ,by no means ,turning this site into Auto Trader. Nothing wrong with like minded individuals giving a heads up before it ends up in the hands of someone holding it for ransom. aka the $1800.00 alternator.
The $1800 alternator comment made me laugh, that made me think of 1 guy specifically. :D (He still posts on here from time to time.)

" Hey guys I should have added that my reply in no way is calling anyone out. This is a pure observation. Sorry for any misunderstandings"

No worries Gary. Were good  :)

General Discussion / Re: '69 Z28 Project Car Value
« on: November 04, 2013, 05:27:38 AM »
Well I signed in to my google account and I was able to see the 1 photo in the drive way, after hitting "albums".  Based on the pic I saw, if it has a good title I don't think you will get hurt paying 8k for it with the idea it is a pretty clean body, and you are getting some parts with it. So I guess the question is will you be happy wether its a non matching numbers Z or maybe it was never a Z at all? For 8k + parts you are ok even just for plain jane camaro. If it turns out to be an original Z body than thats a bonus. If it is a may or later car it may have a vin stamp by the oil filter, doesn't necessarily mean it is a Z but it may point you in the direction of being the original block to the car, which even if it's not a Z adds value IMO. Once you are able to fix the link Kurt and others will be able to give you some better insight.

Isn't amazing how people like to stick their nose in other peoples business? Who really cares? I had asked about a part I had in the' WIW' forum on Team Camaro and almost immediately I got a PM asking if I wanted to sell it and I said sure. I posted it SOLD and I got a post just shortly after that I was being sneaky about advertising in WIW forum instead of offering it in the For Sale forum. I really never got the chance to offer it for sale but it was considered sneaky to this person. People have opinions, whether they are right or wrong, but to be called out as being 'sneaky' by someone that had no business saying anything doesn't go over too well in my book. I was taught the "be seen and not heard" method when I was growing up. If it doesn't have anything to do with me, I'm not sticking my nose in it...except for this post...sorry guys...just my 10 cents.
If the persons business is to sell the car, and then someone from the site he wanted to post it on shows interest wouldn't they need to stick their nose in?? Seems like the scenario he said he wanted happened and then ?
Your 10, and 10 of my own ;)

Just watched that movie the other night and I was thinking hopefully that 67 Camaro wasn't something special Like a Z, (since it had the stripes, and no motor Identification).

One thing that I have noticed with a few of the originals, is it looks like they were a little heavy handed on the "A" and the "G", at least more so than the other letters for some reason. Here is the best pic of mine that I could capture with out having to remove it. (Date is 9D 3 )

George those pics are a great reference, but they don't look like they were once covered completely with orange. Is it your opinion that they were and all of it burned off except around the bolt holes?

That re-stamp looks really nice. Like they spent all day getting it just right, and fortunately for us we have guys that can point that stuff out. It seems like really have to look at a large sample before you can start picking out the good form the bad, or correct from re-stamp. There are some talented re-stampers out there thats for sure  :-\

MAybe it did burn off pretty quickly, but from your picture that is not a little bit of over spray, IMO that is somebody just hosing it with chevy orange! :o

So not just overspray on the manifolds, those manifolds are completely orange in the picture?? Wow I never knew that was the way they left the factory!
Your definition of "overspray" and mine must be quite a bit different.

Or are you just trying to create enough buzz to get a few guys to start making you offers? seems like you have to decide wether you are trying to get every nickle out of it (ebay auction etc)
Or if money is not your motivator as you state that you want it to go to somebody that will give it the TLC, then there should be a price stated.
So which is it?
-No price to generate a private bidding war?
-a price listed so someone that has real interest may contact you, knowing there aren't a bunch of side deals going on?
