Maybe Kurt can can change the topic of this thread and put a Warning sign at the beginning of it.
Maybe this will serve as a warning to fellow CRG members at what they should always lookout for!

It could very well be the same scam of a guy. I didn't realize he was out of angola....
I few years back I was looking for a nice original wood grain 69 camaro steering wheel, and ended up purchasing one from a guy in angola off ebay. The one he sent looked like a new reproduction, after numerous emails I told him I was going to come to him in Angola and do the return in person. Some how I backed him into a corner and got my money back. At the time he was also selling some rare big block water neck as original, but I think he was just recasting them, as well as some rare intakes. I also started researching on the internet and found a court case where he scammed someone for a NOS cross ram. His defense was "I thought NOS stood for newer than original stock" or some B.S. The judge didn't buy it.

SORRY if this is in fact that same guy >:(

Nobody should have to deal with a slimy guy like that. If I were him I would worry about my health

I agree. I don't know the guy, but if it was my vin that I saw popped up I would want to see it first hand and have some experts tell me that it is the real deal.
I did put a disclaimer just so somebody doesn't jump with both feet before they verify.

Great news, that sheds more light on the situation. Hopefully that leads to the car. I have had a car stolen, so I know the bad bad feeling that goes with it. I hope this turns out good for Carl.

If he sends you a pic and you are able to post it, more guys could see it easier. I checked your link very cool pic of it launching off the line. So a clean silver 69 with a front spoiler but no rear spoiler, cowl hood, it looks like weld wheels with hoosier pizza cutters in the front and slicks in the rear. it doesn't look like its been cut or mini tubbed so i would guess a 9" slick which fits with the car raised up a hair. Looks like it may have a cage? What did the car currently run? bottle or no bottle? a trailer pic would be helpful as well.

Foreign Camaros / Re: GM France 67 RS Convertible

They look like pontiac style steel wheels, that I have seen with "PMD" center caps. The pontiac wheels aren't that hard to come by, over here (USA), but you may get some decent coin over there if a pontiac is over there that is in need of the wheels. (if there not to corroded or rusty). They may have come on the Holden cars sold in Austrailia at the time as well.

Actually I don't see any emblems at all? Seems like someone may have gone through the trouble of locating some and installing them at one point?

It looks like a great candidate to clean up. I don't see the diamond grill in the video, also didn't notice any "RS" emblems.

Maybe they were from north Alaska....? Down town New York?

Hard to fathom a city in the USA where you don't see a decent amount of classic cars rolling around on the weekend, but I have not seen every city so, there must be a few...

How many first gen Camaros have you seen over there?

Man finding another Camaro, or sighting of another let alone another 69 in sweden while you guys are rolling yours must be wild sight. If I was visiting Sweden and saw (3) 69 Camaros rolling down the street I think that would have to do a double take, I thought there were just Volvo shows over there?? :D

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Help ! 69 without a protectoplate

Welcome to the forum! Other than the bulk head what other areas have you checked for paint? A couple of places to look for original paint that usually don't get prepped enough is the door jams and where the hinges mount to he doors. A lot of time you will see paint flake off the hinges or in that vicinity because it was sanded down real good. Another spot would be in the wheel wells ( on the lip) and in the rocker moulding area, these too are areas that are over looked when guys go to prep a car for paint. If the car was somewhat original to start with you could check the front spring rates and some other exclusive big block only parts like the heater hose coming through the firewall as (X-77) pointed out. These areas might point you in the right direction of how your may have been equipped from the factory, but as mentioned without the trim plate or p.o.p. it is just going to be educated guessing. Hope these suggestions help!

So I am guessing you are inquiring about the 250 to keep the stock outward appearance, but have a (little) bump in power?
Also who coined it the "mountain motor" chevy lit? made me laugh a bit...sorry
