General Discussion / Re: 69 Z/28 survivor on Ebay

"odd" may be a poor choice of words. how about not ordered as often, or seldom seen or lower percentage colors. For instance I don't see to many silver with red interior cars, or white with red interior. They are not super rare, they are out there, my point was a champaign 69 or yellow with yellow hounds tooth interior I don't see as often and it would stand out in my memory. I see a lot of the orange with black vinyl top, obviously it was a popular choice back then.

Camaro the "hugger" sure you can associate it with hugger orange. Oddly enough the brochure which shows the "hugger" license plate is a green car.

I personally like Garnet Red, and looked for a long time to find the right condition Z that was a original Garnet Red car. After finding a bunch of cars repainted red, I found a nice one that still has much of the original paint intact.
If somebody has their eye out for a original Z that is Orange here is there chance.

I like the car, and I like the idea that these original cars are still out there waiting to be found. "Best color" , not mine but we all have our favorites. It's on my watch list, I am some what surprised it is bid higher than the silver unrestored Z that one of our fellow CRG members purchased. I am not sure I would attribute that to color, but who knows what a couple of bidders are interested in one month to the next.
I thought I saw this car on ebay last year, but I see a lot of orange with the black vinyl top so I may be mistaken. The odd colors are easier for me to remember...

Lets see where it goes!

I always like the vintage pics....thanks

So by 79 besides the dent, they had already swapped out the drivers door mirror?  :-\Seems funny to get a new camaro now, look at the whole car and think "I gotta get rid of that mirror!" What were they thinking back then guys? I mean was it that hard to go to a chevy dealer and have him grab one off the shelf or order one? ??? I see funky antennas, mirrors, guys swapping out seats, and makes me wish I could of slapped those guys up side the head sometimes. Think of all the motor swaps that led to a real 67, 68, or 69 Z/28 turning into a orphan.... tragic!!!

what city in california have you seen those?

Redwood City, CA
"Climate Best by Government Test"

Paul

funny I lived in redwood city for years and would drive right under that sign, I never looked into what "government test"  was actually done. I live in southern california now between L.A. and San Diego, weather is pretty similar, housing is affordable, and the schools are great for our kids. :) I miss going to giants games though :(

Welcome to the sight Morris. Good info can you post a pic of your original cables for us ?

Since you are the original owner,  at one point did you have to switch out the negative side post bolt? thanks

 :)

if you are a mac user you use a screen shot and then go to tools and resize it pretty easy. It will let you play with the image and KB

80k for a copo depending on condition would be a good deal. It costs quite a bit to restore a car the right way. I don't know what your initial investment was but when you figure paint and all of the small stuff it gets expensive. How about a pic of the copo?

Well, as much as I lean toward stock,  Dy rally isn't doing anything that couldn't be changed back, it sounds like just bolt on stuff for the most part. So if his kid gets the car and wants to make it stock it could be done.
Anybody can do anything with a car they own is true, I just prefer most owners don't make mods to the cars that are more than paint and nut and bolt items.
I am not very old but have seen my share of fender flares, cut up floors , and sun roofs installed, and thought each time.."man thats to bad" . IMO hotrods lend themselves to these ideas, they look like more of a blank canvas to me. To the 80 yr old guys though maybe they like those all stock.
different goats for different folks I guess

We all own Camaros and are trying to get it all correct, does that mean we are all OCD?

It was a joke buddy...  Hence the smiley...   ;)

no worries, all I'm saying is we all have our things we like a certain way. For Tom he likes the polls logically planned and well thought out and tested. I started a poll last month only to see little flaws after the fact. :P It is what it is man...
I appreciate you taking the time to post it. :D
