Mild Modifications / Re: Side Exhaust on my 69
« on: January 03, 2014, 06:24:22 PM »
Headman shortys fit perfect and 2 stock bends welded in fit my new 2'5" 67 Vette pipes and just needed to bend the covers slightly to make it all work. Sound awsome now!
That is a nice install, looks like it was a factory option with the way it appears in your photo. I am not sure your gaining power, but there is a coolness factor you will have at the next car show!

A simulated wood 2 spoke sounds more like the 66 optional wheel. (I have one on my 66 chevelle)

I assume the original 302 was long gone, but what other original components did you get with the car?

No console, 08C car has the tach and center fuel gauge. I am thinking the home page on CRG probably shows what options included that grab bar

Well my car has very little options, but does have the grab bar. On the invoice it says "special interior group" My car also has wood on the steering wheel and dash, and has the stainless trim around the pedals.

Hey Jon any recent pics of your car? (Happy new year!)

You can't have an economy gear lower than 2.56.
And specs changed during the year. The Z couldn't get a 4.10 later in the year.
I wasn't aware that the 4.10 wasn't available at one point. When did they remove that option?

Very cool. Did it start off as a 67 Z/28, and then get modified through the years? It must be a task to find a vintage race car that remained in good condition. it seems like a car that turned into a racer early on would get beat on and hacked up a bit more every time it passes to a new owner.

is your avatar of a original trans am racer, or is this a car you may have made to go to the track with?
