General Discussion / Re: 69 Z/28 Barn Find??
« on: January 24, 2014, 05:38:08 PM »
"barn find", and "survivor" are very loosely used these days, but catch buyers eyes (including mine). I stopped describing my car as a survivor, because of all over usage and marketing that surrounds the "survivor" tag these days. Unrestored is bland enough to cover my car. :)

As far as a barn or older building in a pic with my car. I have seen a couple of cool looking older barns that I thought would be a cool, one had a decent lean to it. It wouldn't be for the purpose of selling the car, just as a cool photo op for my own collection of pics.

I looked it over when it popped up on ebay. I asked him if he had any involvement with the added hood and spoilers. I didn't get any response.

Thanks Roy for fighting the good fight and getting access to this information. I am surprised the NCRS would have to be convinced to do this though. What was their argument for not doing it?

unless you had a private booth, and had access to lacquer products, it is going to be tough to get a car painted in the states with it now a days.

I have seen many guys with original cars from may, june july and august state they still had the original 4 clip design. Enough guys, that it seems more likely they were original to the car, than somebody went and located the 4 clip and swapped out the finger design. Just my 2 cents.

Hey Rszmjt, can you post a pic of the trim ring removal card? I don't think I have ever seen one. thanks
*or email me the pic, PM sent. thanks

Hey Ed, I am glad this was bright to light. How did this information come about?

With items like this being dusted off by GM, 40 to 50 years after the cars were produced, it makes me wonder what else GM has tucked away in their archives: shipping docs, more pertinent info for what cars got certain options. I can imagine a lot of documentation still being tucked away, that may be released slowly and periodically by GM at their discretion I suppose, or maybe as they run across it and come to the idea that there is a huge group of car owners waiting with baited breath for more docs to get released.

I have a 08C Z/28 (late 69) car, and mine came with both the 4 clip and the finger design. My 4 clip design sits snug on the wheel, but there is a small gap between the rim and the trim ring.

It does look nice (hopefully it has windshield wipers by now). So in your opinion do you think it is a $88k car?

Was one used per car and attached to the left side (tunnel side) of the passenger seat? I don't see one in my pics on the drivers seat.

I assume this is the rally wheel with the 4 clip design trim rings? can you take a pic and show the  gap?

Here is a better car, IMHO. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/557472/1969_Z28_Lemans_Blue_51k_origi#Post557472

whats funny is, thats the way the other car on ebay probably looked brand new, (no spoilers and a flat hood), and looks like it has all the correct X77 items. The ebay car has various X33 items added here and there. Both cars are the same color, both X77, with the endura bumper, very nice combo.

Wow. Perhaps this is a crazy question, but you said you bought a rust free car. Was it advertised as such. If so I would think that you would have a case on your hands.

good point

General Discussion / Re: SPANISH CAMARO COMMERCIAL

I asked my wife who majored in spanish, and she did a quick translation for me: she said each person is talking about the journey and looking around and enjoying life, and then when the new camaro comes on screen  "this to me is life" "its about taking it all in" .
