I would hold off on sand blasting the steering box, you don't want small particles getting in through the seals and ruining it. The rest looks good though

Jimmy that is a very similar set up I had in my 55. I ended up running the 327, M21, and I am guessing it is a 4:10 in my 64 C/10, great combo but now I need to be able to stop the beast so looking at suspension and brake packages, from Scotts Hot rods and customs. All square tube front cross members and tig welded, everything made or sourced in the USA. Not cheap but you get what you pay for, many options to customize it to your needs/wants.
I just wanted to agree with you on the 327 4 speed comments, awesome set up.

If you read his earlier post and pic, he says the RS tailights got swapped out at one point, and you can see in the pic he posted that the back up lights got filled in as well.

I am with you on that Kelley, My first big block car, a 66 Chevelle SS-396 when I got it didn't stop at all, it had fairly low miles and I realized the drum brakes in the front were worn down to metal on metal and still had the original shoes. I had the drums turned and put new shoes on it first thing, got it all adjusted and bled the system for good measure, and thought "now its going to stop really good". ...
It barley made a difference, it didn't grind anymore, but trying to get all that front end weight to a complete stop was all leg baby.
It separates the men from the boys doesn't it.....Good times.

Trans-Am Camaros / Re: Trans-Am cheating fact or fiction ???

Good topic Al. So I have 2 questions: To the best of your knowledge was it widely known that the Penske team would use the #9 car for tech inspections on both cars and just change the number to 6 for the Donahue car?(  I read that somewhere)

Secondly regarding Smokey Yunick and other gear heads like him, was he admired for trying to bend the rules so much with ingenuity, or was he and other crafty engineers like him viewed or thought of as "cheaters". Or was it more the case everybody was trying to slip something by the tech guys so you just hoped you had the smartest guys on your team who could give your car(s) the edge ?

so even though it says 15 x 8 it is probably 15 x 8.5? I wasn't sure if they made different sizes for the magnesium wheels

I am planning on running those wheels on my 55 bel air. I thought they only came 15 x 7 , and 15 x 8.5 though. the 8.5 is a bit to much unfortunately. Anybody else aware of the sizes?

So how many cubes is your block going to be? are you going to be running an 11:1 compression ratio or a bit higher?
I like all the insight, but you say the motor put out as much power, or when you switched cams to engle not a significant power difference. Any idea what your car or penske or similar motor would dyno at? with and without the cross ram,
What kind of boost to horsepower were you getting after having the heads gone through?
