Test Drive / What Kind of transmission do you have in your 69 Z
« on: November 27, 2013, 06:21:17 PM »
Ok a poll for JUST 69 Z/28 guys. In a recent thread we were speculating what the percentage is for each transmission installed from the factory and it was suggested the CRG could have some numbers from its members cars so then it would give us a good enough sample size to have a good idea of what percentage of each transmission was installed in the 69 Z/28. Again this is just for the 1969 Z/28. I am from the understanding that all Z/28's came with a muncie, but I put the option for a sagnaw or other just in case somebody has a documented car with something other than a muncie.

I also put in the option in this poll for members to vote more than once if they happen to have more than one 1969 Z/28, but make sure you don't accidentally vote more than once (if you own only 1) or it will throw off the poll. (if you do make a mistake, you can change your vote)

*I will also do a poll for 1969 NON Z/28 cars (SS, COPO, Plain jane, 6 cylinder, etc) because I would like to also see how the transmissions were dispersed among all the other factory 4 speed cars. Once completed this should give us an idea of how often each transmission was installed. :)

General Discussion / I am the only one that ordered the wrong shirt!
« on: October 18, 2013, 06:14:22 PM »
Hello fellow CRG members. Well I hope all of you are doing well and are excited about your new CRG shirt that is on the way, or close to it. Somehow after all my input and creativity contributions I made to us putting together a CRG T-Shirt, Somehow when I ordered mine instead of it being front and back I was told by Steve that I ordered a front only. (I thought I paid for a front and back) ???
So I think I am the only guy who made this dumb mistake.

So I know some of you purposely ordered a front only to get creative with a design for the back. Now I am hoping some of you guys can help me out so I can get some kind of a back design on mine. Can you guys PLEASE post some pics of the back design and what the local print shop is charging to do so.

My long shot idea is if someone has a decent design and print shop I can send my shirt to them and get it screened on the back. Just thought this may work since Steve has his hands full.

Thanks guys

Originality / Build sheet vs. "IBM"
« on: August 05, 2013, 07:36:10 AM »
Ok so I was surfing the web and saw an old thread http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=445459&page=all
on the Yenko site about a guy who bought a pretty original unrestored 69 Z and under the carpet he found a IBM card. I have seen my share of build sheets, mostly being found on top of the gas tank on the drivers side. The 69 Z mentioned is a early Norwood pre X code car, and this IBM card was found under the drivers side footwell area. I have not heard of a IBM card prior to this, and was just curious if anybody else has discovered this paperwork on a Norwood car, and if it is as common as running across the build sheet on a los angles car? The IBM card is described as having the options for the car on it. Please post some pics if you guys have them.
 thanks for any help

Hey guys,  I wanted to know more about the membership of over 4000 people and see what types of Camaros are inspiring the debate, conversations and continued research that fuels the interest and growth in this great  site.  This poll isn't meant to intrude and make public which owner has which car, but just let all of us know the percentage of each year Camaro that make up all of our members cars. The more guys that participate the more accurate picture of our collective of Camaros.
This is the 1st poll !
I would like conduct more polls to break down the information further and know for example : out of all the 1967 Camaro owners on this site how many of those Camaros are a plain jane or RS or SS or RS/SS, and Z/28, possibly Yenko or baldwin motion.  You get the idea here

Take it away guys!

thanks

Kurt, Ed or anyone amoung "the inner circle" , is there a rough breakdown of our 4132 members by year and model of car? like how many members have a 67, of those that have a 1967 how many are SS models, RS or a Z or plain jane, and so on and so forth for the other years. It would be interesting to know which year is strongly represented by membership and if the other years are close by, or we need to reach out to another years owners because there is such a discrepancy. I look forward to the answer on this.....

Originality / original transverse muffler date codes?
« on: January 06, 2013, 02:04:17 AM »
Hey guys wondering if anyone out there has an original transverse muffler on their car or in their inventory and if they date stamped the mufflers? Anyone have any insight on this one? Did they stamp a part number and date on the resonators as well?

I have been getting personal messages asking where we are at with our progress of  CRG hat and T-shirt. The old topic got Locked, it seems things got a little heated over wether or not we should have a poll while we are waiting for permission.

68Steve has corresponded with GM-EMI and received the forms.  I believe by now he has submitted these forms. I talked to the woman from EMI and asked her for a lead time on such permission, and she said it usually took about a month, but considering the holiday this month it would probably be closer to 6 weeks.

I hope this helps everyone who wants to know the status, and I am sure Steve will update us when he has more information, as long as this topic doesn't get closed as well.
If for some reason it does get closed, feel free to contact me, this will help Steve out if he is not getting bombarded from many questions.

thanks guys!

« on: August 28, 2012, 01:48:19 PM »

I have possibly located a pair of nos original spiral shocks.  My question is do these look like they are original? is there easy way to distinguish between the repops and originals? I have other close up pics if someone needs to see a particular stamp to be able to identify these as original. thanks for the help
