General Discussion / Re: Your Friday Photo
« on: April 16, 2014, 02:29:40 AM »
Very good idea for a Friday afternoon ride. The cow's don't seem to be impressed with your ride !!! Nor do they seem to be all that excited that you decided to stop to take a picture with them in the back ground.  I'm guessing, the one cow said to the other ones, OK guys, look your best here we go again !!!!

I have the same color combination - Cool picture either way. Can't wait to see your next back ground photo.

Cool car for sure !!!  This  story reminds me of a lady a few years ago.  Its funny how the women always ends up with the nice toys. I'm  assuming, it was her husbands car to begin with.

Three or four years ago, I met a lady showing an 57 Ford vert. (what a beast of a car).  She said, that she was showing the car for her deceased husband. He had started restoring the car and passed away before it was complete.  She finished restoring the car, and was showing the car in her husband memory.  Quite sure my wife want be following that woman's lead !!!!

It was quite windy on Friday, Just Perfect on Saturday, and quite cool this morning, it warmed up a littler after noon today. There were a lot of people there both Friday and Saturday...Another good turn out of folks today, but I think the overcast skies and cooler weather held some folks from coming out early..

I help judge some classes on Saturday, so was not able to make it to the meet and great. But, I wore my CRG shirt proudly.

Has anyone heard from Dannystarr. It's been quite a while since we last heard from him regarding his situation.  Wish him and his family the best possible outcome.

I agree with some of the other comments that working on cars is getting somewhat harder as we again more maturity and wisdom. However, working and cleaning on our car/toys is a great form of exercise. For example, working underneath a car is like doing push ups and sit ups which strengthens the core. You get to do back exercise by bending over, leg presses/squats by getting up and down, and sometime it can be a complete workout based on what you are doing.

Just don't think about it like going to the Gym, or you will stop working on them.  Make it a part of your weekly exercise program by going out and cleaning on it. Arm movement and walking around a car is a great form of exercise, so make sure you dust it at least two or three times a week. You might even be able to convince your family to come and exercise with you provided you sell it, the right way.

It doesn't work for me, because my wife could care less about cleaning on my cars since she is already in better shape than me. Use this activity as mean to stay in shape just by working on them and continue to be safe.

Guys, thanks for the help.  It may never pan out in my favor that I find this motor, and that will be OK too. I'm having a great time looking for something in life where you get small leads on to keep you looking and working towards the end goal...Or, to get you to the next lead.

I find it humbling that total strangers "car guys" are willing to help someone find something they have no vested interest in other than to help. What a great hobby and country we live in.

General Discussion / Looking for CRG Members from Lebanon PA.
« on: March 11, 2014, 03:28:42 AM »
Are there any CRG member from the Lebanon Pa. area on this site. If so, I would like to discuss with you my search for a Burnish Brown 1969 Z-28 sold by a person from the southern part of Pa. in the late 1970's.  For the past three years, I have been tracking down leads to a motor I have been looking for.

Today, I received a call from a person I met from a friend on this site.  We spoke about a two months ago and he said that he would help me track down the original car owner, which he did, which was awesome.  He provided me with the original owners name and the name of the person the original car owner sold the motor to, which was to his knowledge put it in a Burnish Brown Z.

Its amazing what you can learn and find out if you are prescient in your search and have wonderful contacts like members on this site. That's what makes this hobby, so great. If you are from or near the Lebanon areas please PM me so I can ask more questions regarding this car..  I may never end up finding or getting the motor that I'm looking for, but at least I can still search to see if miracles do come true.

General Discussion / Re: CRG t-shirts - How to order
« on: March 09, 2014, 10:25:42 PM »
I think the sweat shirt is a great idea for a CRG summer project.  But I'm sure its a pain to deal with all the emails and shipping that goes along with putting an order together.

Hear is a thought, would it be possible to have CRG members buy the shirt logo (from CRG) and have a local shirt company make them. That way the person could pick and choose the color t-shirts/sweat shirts they want based on the rules from CRG.  Seems like it would be a lot less work on Steve.  I realize CRG would lose some control over the shirts..

Nope, that water pump sold for over $200.00.  Really didn't need it that bad, but they are getting very hard to find..

Would a B129 water pump be too early for a B259 build date motor?

Phillip, I will be showing again with Classic Camaro's of the Carolina's. Last year, we were on pit road along the  wall off turn four.  It goes without say, that the guys in "yellow hats" do a great job in helping folks find their way around the CMS. Thanks in advance for all your teams great southern  hospitality  ;D  :o...
