Originality / Trunk Deck - Weather Seal Paint stripe
« on: October 23, 2012, 01:35:37 AM »
This w/e I saw a restored 69 Z-28 and half way from the center towards the passenger side of the trunk he had a red paint stripe on the trunks rubber weather seal about 1/4" wide..Is this a correct detail or just another detail touch by a car guy...He also had the weather seal cut in-line with the red paint stripe.

General Discussion / Best Black Interior Sail Panels
« on: October 18, 2012, 01:46:34 AM »
Where is the best place to buy a very good set of interior sail panels for a 69 that want separate from the backing panel....The ones I recently purchased started to separate and bubbled  the day after they were installed.

I have been told by some car show judges that the inside of my doors feel like dry paint. I know they aren't as slick as the body paint since its hard to get into these areas to sand and buff when painting the doors and the jams..So what does this really mean. Is that the paint is not slick or what ?  There is no orange peel and it looks clear and shines..

The paint is a PPG product - base coat clear coat..Any thoughts other than waxing and waxing to correct the feeling like Dry Paint Feel, as if I know what that's supposed to feels like...Any recommendation or products that you would chose over another wax or polish..

General Discussion / RS Front Parking Lights and Trim Rings
« on: June 27, 2012, 10:05:56 PM »
I did a CRG search on this topic and found some helpful information, but did not find the answer to my question...My RS has the chrome trim ring around the front parking lot lights. From the factory how were these two different material assembled..Was it a sonic weld, compression fit or two part epoxy..They will not stay on once removed and reinstalled...

According to (source data from Hot Rod magazine, 1975) artice, it states, the following number of Z/28 were sold...In 1967 (602), 1968 (7,199), and in 1969 (20,302)...For the experts here, does this number look to be correct..The 1967 numbers would seem correct since it was the first year of a new body style. The number of units sold looks relatively low to me based on the total number of Camaro sold in 1968 and 1969.

This block is for sale on e-bay.  So my question is, does this look like a factory stamp or restamp...This block was for sale months back and the guy wanted $4,000 for it then, but it did not sell..Its not listed by the same person that had it listed before, but the same area where is was listed before..West Tenn.

Originality / GM Badging - Inside Door Jams
« on: March 04, 2012, 06:13:03 PM »
Did the 1969 Z/28's come with the GM Mark of Excellence badge on the inside the door jams. If so, what color is correct the 1969 Camaro - GM Green or Blue badge.  If they came with them, what would be the correct location for them.

General Discussion / Car Bubbles
« on: November 20, 2011, 02:38:49 AM »
Anyone from the CRG had any experience or using acar bubbles or capsules as they are called...I was told they do a great good job in protecting your or storing your car over the winter months, even when stored inside...They are not all that expensive and look like they would project your car...I'm qute sure that when the pollen come out they would be worth the investment..
