Coldnīt agree more.....

Wow this changes everything. This is perhaps one of the most unique looking Camaros I have ever seen as well. I love it. Perhaps I need to rethink my current plan. Please post more info on this awesome car. It looks like a million dollars. I have never seen or heard of this combination before.

The 1st gen Camaros have a great timeless style/design

Chevy should have made the new Camaros more of a 1st gen retro design - like the way the new Mustangs and Challengers were done.

I totally agree with you 100%. I have always thought the same thing.

Sold 9-18-11 for $7600.00

Cowl tag reads:

06D
68-12437 NOR162027
724                   R2

Paul

Wow that seems like good money for that car only because it needs just about all of its sheet metal replaced, judging from the pictures of course. That car will eat up a lot of money if it is restored properly. Hopefully who ever bought it has the means to do a lot of the work. Would be nice if we see the car surface once it is restored. Rememeber that Cowl tag.

Very interesting. Does that apply to all? Does it make a difference with a 12 to comp motor? I have been told constantly that a motor can't run more than 10 to 1 with Pump gas. We can get 94 octane in Canada. I am thinking of building a motor and want to know what would be the correct comp ratio to use. Obviously higher comp will make more power.

Depends on the engine and the tune - there are LOTS of 11:1 60's small-block Corvettes and Z/28's out there with factory "30-30" cams that run just fine on pump premium; the "30-30" has a late-closing intake valve that bleeds off some cylinder pressure at low to medium rpm that makes it much less sensitive to detonation. Aftermarket cams all close the intake valve much earlier in the quest for more power, and most of them won't work without detonation at 11:1 as a result.

Thanks John. My engine builder guy that I just found who is going to rebuild my old 350 is recommending 10 to 1 compression. I will post the engine specs, but it will be an old school LT1.

Nothing beats the lines of a '69 Camaro.

OMG I love this car. What color is that. Back around 1979 when I lived in Florida I saw a 68 that had the same color combo. Never seen it again until now. It really stands out as something different. Question is. Was that a factory color? I have only ever seen it twice.

Nice job Marty

Ya, I want my car back.  It was stolen years ago.

Too funny! You are right I should play that card just to blow his mind. A good scare might be just what the doctor ordered!

That is a great picture of the Gold RS. IS it yours. That is one fine looking car. I have to agree with Steve. My Favorite Camaro of all time is the 69 Z 28. I wanted one so bad, but could not afford one so I am building a clone. It may be the closest I get to the real thing. I will try to do it justice, but either way the first time I drive it one early morning I will be as giddy as a scholl boy I can tell you that. It will be high school all over again. Pretty well a dream come true. Glad there are some many others that feel the same way. Go L'il Camaro Go!

Car was never mine, just funny to see my name on the POP, an all too perfect looking one at that.

That is my name on the protecto plate. How crazy is that.

Is that original or after market rust? I am only interested in original rust, the after market stuff just isn't quite right!

No bids so far. I guess no one needs one that bad! Must be a typo.

Do you still have parts for sale?
329  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Z/28 stripes on: September 16, 2011, 02:21:46 AM
I bought a kit from Stencils and stripes and we only used the corners from the kit. The dimesions were also wrong in the kit as the dimensions were taken from the AIM. I would suggest getting measuremants from an original paint car. There are many threads over at Team Camaro that cover proper 1969 Z 28 stripes.

I have a set of OER and they are crap. I am going to swap mine out for stainless at some point.
