241  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 Z-28 X77 NoTach on: January 26, 2011, 05:37:25 PM
I had a '69 Z28 a few years ago and it was an X77 code no tach, no centre console and no gauges. If you really want some piece of mind and are worried you can post some pics of stampings and trim tag, and get feedback from the folks on this site.

Jerry , I was very surprised at what the two certified COPO cars sold for, thought for sure there was some money left on the table. Almost every Z listed in the auction had a POP, that alone seemed odd and no pics of trim tags on either site. Some of the real deal ones fetched good money.

What a real shame someone didn't keep the drivetrain and body together.

This is a very nice looking car and agreed they got it right.

Fred, thanks for the extra info. do you have any pics of the old Dealership? I did google map the address and saw the brick building and show room were still there.

I live in a suburb of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
248  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Jim King Chevrolet on: January 22, 2011, 12:12:22 AM
Does anyone have pictures or information on JIM KING CHEVROLET, MILWAUKEE, WI. My latest purchase was sold new at this Dealership and I can't find any significant information online. I know they closed their doors in 1981.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
249  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Does this Trim Tag look legitimate? on: January 19, 2011, 05:38:41 PM
Amazing, not only is the trim tag a fake but the window sticker. I like the effort they used to try and add the patina to the window sticker.

Since the Z and SS were performance packages and RS was a mere trim package I would say the Z and SS would be dominate since those badges were used if the car had the RS trim package.

This has my vote and makes the most sense.

Low mile survivor, nice colour, rare options = one cool car.
252  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Best Selling Paint Color on a 1969 Z/28 on: January 18, 2011, 09:29:12 AM
Huggar Orange and Tuxedo Black sell very quickly in todays market. Another colour that is gaining in popularity is Dusk Blue.

You may want to check E-Bay. I also bought some items from PaceCarJeff and he had some exhaust manifolds.

These folks have an unreal collection of cars for sale. Very nice stuff but most of the inventory is somewhat high end.
255  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Original Owner on: January 04, 2011, 09:51:57 PM
Great news and congratulations, this is sometimes a very difficult task to track down and speak to these owner. Sometimes they don't even remember any details about the car other than the colour. The biggest bonus will be if he finds some old pics or better yet DOCS.... Grin
