Hey Eddie, on the dip stick you should see USE GM 6041-M-QUALITY MS ENGINE OIL and the length is 18 3/4" from bottom of handle to the tip.

Holly fender flares Batman, no vin number provided in the listing but if this is an early build then the partial vin number would be stamped on the pad, if a late built then down by the oil filter boss.

General Discussion / Re: Looking for an inspection near columbus, ohio.

Maybe there is a member here that can inspect the car for you.  Can you post pictures of the car, stampings etc so maybe the virtual folks can give their feedback. Might be a starting point for now until you can arrange something with Jerry, sometimes pictures do say a 1000 words.

General Discussion / Re: Block Decking

Daniel, you bring up some interesting points. There are a multitude of reasons why an engine would need to be decked and in most instances would be part of a legitimate repair. I think the line becomes black and white when someone does so to deceive or misrepresent an item as being the "real deal" knowing full well they have done this to separate someone from their money.

General Discussion / Re: 69 Z28 Engine Bay Pic's

JohnZ also has a great '69Z and the car is very original. Should try to get him to post some pics of his engine bay.

It will all depend on what condition you need the car, a driver or something fully restored. Lots of nice cars out in the market place right now but have varying degrees of restoration. If you are looking for numbers matching, fully restored, nice color combination and with original documentation then I don't think $50K will do it. If you find a car somewhat restored and numbers matching with no documentation then yes lots of stuff out there. Have you looked on E-Bay, Cars on Line, Team Camaro, just to name a few.

Buy nothing until you have the car inspected by someone who knows these vehicles like Jerry MacNeish.  You can also post pics of the car, trim tag and stampings on this site and others to soloist feedback and be careful lots of fake cars for sale with bogus trim tags etc.

Best of luck in your hunt.

Wonder why there is so many layers of paint on the Trim Tag, I would say it might be a reproduction tag.

General Discussion / Re: '67 Capri Cream Z28 on EBay

I was following this car on E-Bay, not sure of the market value on a '67 Z project car but this price seemed a little high considering what is left of this one.

Wow that car is toast, you can see from the video he kept his foot in it the whole time.

Originality / Re: 69 spiral shocks
« on: September 03, 2012, 04:31:34 PM »
These shocks are going for big dollars so I understand your concern about re-stamps. The reproduction ones that are for sale do not have date stamps like the pic of the one you posted.

General Discussion / Re: What's wrong with this picture

I know something about this car that is not listed in the ad...spoke to the seller some time ago as it is also listed for sale on Team Camaro. The car is a Norwood build with a LA vin number, the seller openly disclosed this info.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Ebay Z/28..Does this cowl tag look ok?
« on: August 23, 2012, 12:26:18 PM »
It's a reproduction trim tag, this seller was trying to sell the car on Team Camaro for months. He kept getting harassed about the fake tag and pulled the car off the site and I guess has now listed it on E-Bay.

What a nice looking car and cool color combo, he should have just left the old TT and changed the color to what he wanted.

General Discussion / Re: C B Radiator Date Month
« on: August 19, 2012, 11:45:03 AM »
My radiator has H and my car is 08E build date, so the same month. This does not seem like an anomaly, maybe some other members will chime in with their dates.
