If you're looking at a 68 or 69 ZRS it has a bold "Z/28" & in small block letters it says "rally sport" meaning Chevrolet wanted the Z/28 to be dominant not rally sport. On a SS/RS the SS was what Chevrolet wanted their car to be known as. No difference in badging at all. 2 more of my cents...Joe

I don't have my first car which was a 1965 Chevelle SS327 4 spd. I do have my 1st Camaro & the last Camaro I ever purchased. I've had 16. Maybe we should ask who still has their 1st Camaro. The z/28 was my 1st Camaro...Joe

I got mine today & this is how they compare to the MSO

The 68 z/28 production date was Wednesday 3/13/1968.......The MSO transfer day was Monday 3/18/1968 on invoice KL19379

The 69 ss396 production date was Thursday 8/28/1969........The MSO transfer date was Thursday 9/4/1969 on invoice KN15878

Both were delivered & sold by O'rielly Motor Company Tucson, Az. Dealer code 223, zone 39

Has anyone been able to compare the official production date to the MSO date yet?

Thanks for asking this again - surely somebody has the MSO on their car and the dealer/build info by now. Am I going to have to send another $50.00 in to answer this ?

My 69 is an 08E transferred from GM to O'rielly Motor Co. on Sept 4th 1969. The first assignment was July 29th, 1970 according to the MSO. I would say that was from stock....Joe
