198  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: lets reunite another 302 with the original car on: December 31, 2010, 12:36:53 PM
I would think by now all DMVs should be able to do a nation wide search. They probably won't give you any information but you might try the approach of reuniting an original engine with it's long lost car. You might get them to give you the city & state or if they're real nice they might let you give them a letter with your request & they could mail it to the owner. Then see if the owner get back to you. It might not be in the computer if it hasn't been registered in the last 7 years. Good luck...Joe

The company is ELC or ECL or something like that. I have the info at home. They also do them for the Chyslers. Maybe it will jog someone's memory

203  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 69 camaro LH door on: November 15, 2010, 02:35:39 PM
If I'm not mistaken it was in Aug of 69 the LH door was changed. Jerry McNeish talks about it in his books. The LH door has 2 impressions where the new Federal sticker went. Mine is 08E & has that door....Joe
204  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 67 power feed wire on: November 03, 2010, 08:23:17 AM
MY first reply was mostly correct except fot the placement of the hole for the wire that goes through the firewall , at least for 68/69. I don't have an assm manual for a 67 to check. C06 show the harness placement & A31 say to refer to C06....Joe

207  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 1967 printed circuit on: October 22, 2010, 06:15:47 AM
Is the printed circuit on the back of the inst cluster the same for tach & non tach?
Thanks, Joe
208  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 67 power feed wire on: October 20, 2010, 08:20:33 AM
I gave you the wrong info. The wire going through the firewall is next to a ground strap below the wiper motor....Sorry.
Joe
209  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 67 power feed wire on: October 19, 2010, 02:44:25 PM
Unless 67 is different the 68/69 for power windows and/or power top there should be a wire going through the firewall. There's a wire (black) that comes from the horn relay & goes to the circuit breaker that's attached to the firewall behind the m/c power booster. The wire coming from the circuit breaker (orange w/blk) goes through the firewall. It has a small grommet attached to it. There's a dimple in the firewall where you would need to drill. It's discussed in the assm manual. If I'm not mistaken it's near the upper LH bolt for the pedal mount. I can look tonight if that would help....Joe
210  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: 69 Rear End Code Stamping on: October 15, 2010, 03:55:32 PM
I've seen a few over the years that were stamped on both axle tubes. Some I've seen at almost 12:00 position. Happy hunting, Joe
