198  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / XT wheels with trim rings on: February 01, 2011, 11:27:42 AM
Did XT wheels ever have trim rings as an option? I have XTs & YHs I could use during the restoration of the X66 car. Daytona yellow wheels & body seems a little much for me & I think the trim rings could tone it down a bit.......Joe

Early cars including z/28, tach was an option, as were spoilers. Some people also believe a z/28 without spoilers isn't real....Joe

How can you tell the difference from real adj brackets & reproductions? What to look for.
Thanks, Joe

When I'm talking to others, I always refer to the major option first. Example Z/28-rs or SS/rs. When ordered new, the SS & the Z were first on the order information. That's just me Smiley

These are the header that are on my car. They say "GM 3" in 4 different locations per pair. They have an od shaped mounting flange & the alt bracket is welded on to support the original mounting bracket. They are 1-3/4 primaries with 3 bolt collectors...Joe

My factory headers have 3 on 3 flange although nobody will acknowledge their existance & at least 2 sets of these exist...Joe

It's hard to tell by your picture but they look like headliner trim for a 67 with deluxe int or special int...Joe
208  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: lets reunite another 302 with the original car on: December 31, 2010, 12:36:53 PM
I would think by now all DMVs should be able to do a nation wide search. They probably won't give you any information but you might try the approach of reuniting an original engine with it's long lost car. You might get them to give you the city & state or if they're real nice they might let you give them a letter with your request & they could mail it to the owner. Then see if the owner get back to you. It might not be in the computer if it hasn't been registered in the last 7 years. Good luck...Joe
